About us

Golden State Squares is offering classes for those interested in learning to square dance. No dance partner is required and our dance environment is casual attire. Masks are not required but recommended to help prevent the spread of COVID, flu, or colds.

Classes are held weekly on Wednesday evenings from 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm in Irvine. Open house events will be held on September 23 and September 30 and will be free to new dancers interested in the class. After those two open houses, sessions are $10.00 each.

Golden State Squares is an Orange County LGBTQ+ organization that has been dancing for 40 years. Our membership is comprised of people from all ages and walks of life however you must be 18 years of age or older. Although we are primarily oriented towards the gay and lesbian community, all square dancers are welcome to dance with us.

We dance at Irvine United Congregational Church Plumer Hall but we are not affiliated with the church and only rent the hall for our events.
