There are also many temples, residential structures, pillared halls and the entrance gate ways worth seeing here. The panoramic view from the summit is awe inspiring and is ideal for trekking. The Gopinatha Temple and Kathulabave at the foothill are other major attractions of Kondaveedu.

Hearing Hills
Vinukonda is a town in Guntur district (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guntur_district), Andhra Pradesh (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andhra_Pradesh), India (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/India). It had a population of 52,830 at the time of the 2001 Census. Local mythology holds a hill nearby as the place where Rama (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rama) was informed of his wife Sita (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sita)'s abduction. The name therefore literally translates to " Hearing Hill". It is also the headquarters of a mandal (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mandal) of the same name.
History
Dolmens and other megalithic structures have been found in the town's neighbourhood. Inscriptions from the about 1000-1400 CE are also to be found in many old temples. The Vishnukindana, a local dynasty, ruled the adjoining areas from here during the turn of the millennium. During the medieval era, the hill nearby was the site of a fortress. A four hundred year old Jama Masjid, built in 1640, is the only major relic of Muslim rule in the town.
