Details

SacRuby.new is our monthly Ruby meetup for new programmers, web developers, or anyone else who is interested in learning the basics.

Be sure to RSVP at http://sacruby.info/

Ruby on Rails Basics Bootcamp

This is going to be a special SacRuby.new meet up held in conjunction with HackerLab and Davis Startup Weekend (http://davis.startupweekend.org).

In a (one-time) longer session, we are holding a Ruby on Rails Boot Camp class to help prepare participants for the Startup event starting the following day.

Feel free to drop in anytime, but note this will be a hands-on session. We'll be building a basic application together from scratch using Ruby 2.0 and Rails 4. We will be teaching basic familiarity with Rails and Rails terminology. Even if you aren't going to be in the Startup event, this is a great way to start getting familiar with this popular framework.

Having a Linux or Mac OS machine is highly recommended using RVM. If you have a Windows box, please try to get a Ruby 2.0 install running before the class. Use the forum on this site to ask questions ahead of time.

We'll be back to our regular SacRuby.new agenda in December with a basic OOP class.
