### Intro to Woodshop: Part 1 – Beginner’s Class
Ready to dive into woodworking but not sure where to start? This beginner-friendly, hands-on class will give you the skills and confidence to safely use essential woodshop tools while building a strong foundation for your maker journey.
In this 2-hour workshop, you’ll learn step-by-step how to handle both electric hand tools and larger shop equipment under the guidance of an experienced instructor. With only 3 students per session, you’ll get personalized attention every step of the way.
🔨 You’ll Learn:
- Common woodworking terms and beginner techniques
- How to safely use electric hand tools (jigsaw, circular saw, sanders)
- How to operate the miter saw, planer, and SawStop table saw
- Smoothing and finishing basics with sanders

📜 Certification Path:
To gain full access to the Woodshop (with membership or a maker day pass), you must complete Intro to Woodshop: Part 2 after this class.
👕 What to Bring & Know:
- Wear shop-appropriate clothes: long pants, closed-toe shoes, and tie back long hair
- Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign our release of liability
- Register by 9 AM the day before class (for same-day inquiries, call or email us)
- Must review and agree to Made Studio’s Woodshop Safety Rules
