Certification: Must take Part 2 class to be granted full access to the Woodshop (with membership or maker day pass)
This hands-on class is perfect for beginners looking to build woodworking confidence and learn how to safely use essential shop tools. You’ll leave with a solid understanding of key equipment and techniques.
You’ll learn:
- Introductory woodworking terms and techniques
- How to use electric hand tools (jigsaw, circular saw, sanders)
- How to use the miter saw, planer, and SawStop table saw
- How to use sanders to smooth surfaces
All tools and materials are provided. Supplies are included in the class fee.

Important Notes:
- Register by 9 AM the day before class. For same-day inquiries, call or email us.
- Wear shop-appropriate clothes: long pants, close-toed shoes, and hair tied back.
