Learn to use a sewing machine by threading, adjusting tension, and practicing basic stitches. Leave with a handmade key fob! Great for beginners. Register by 9AM the day before or contact us for same-day availability.

Certification: Grants access to basic sewing machines with membership or maker day pass.
Learn the basics of using a sewing machine in this beginner-friendly class. You’ll practice threading the machine, adjusting thread tension, selecting stitch types, and sewing simple features like zippers and buttonholes. You’ll complete a small sewing project—a key fob—to take home. Bring your own favorite fabric (15.5” x 3.5”) or choose from our limited selection.
You’ll Learn:
- How to sew a basic key fob project (see photo below)
- How to thread a basic sewing machine
- How to set and test thread tension
- How to adjust stitch style and length
All equipment and materials are provided. Supplies are included in the class fee.
