Hiking at Oak Grove

Your GPS should read 409 Byron Street, Chesapeake, VA. Or you’ll get lost.

During the hot summer months, we move from Mount Trashmore to Oak Grove Lake Park.

Same great 1-1/2 mile hike around a lake, but more shade. Hike as many laps as you want. Caution: port-a-potties only.

Park in the spacious parking lot or on the street outside the park.

From the parking lot, walk away from Byron Street toward the lake, on the concrete path. At a crossroads in the path, go right. (You’ll see a playground to your right.) Keep walking to the dirt path. You’ll have a great view of the lake ahead of you.

Allow at least 7 minutes to park, walk and get to the dirt path.
