Memorial Day Scenic Adventure Hike + Picnic Lunch at Stough Canyon (Burbank)

Hey Everyone!

Come join me for a scenic morning hike + early picnic lunch at Stough Canyon in Burbank!

We’ll be exploring the scenic ridgelines above the city, offering panoramic views of Burbank, downtown LA, and beyond.

Along the way, we’ll stop for a casual early picnic lunch in the mountains — so be sure to bring something to eat and feel free to bring a little something to share!

This is an easy-to-moderate hike, with a few steep sections early on as we make our way up the mountain.

We'll keep a steady, comfortable pace — great for taking in the views, snapping some photos, and enjoying the fresh mountain air.

I've done this trail before, but this time we’ll be going a bit farther, so be prepared for a hike that lasts about 3.5 hours total.

Bring water, light lunch, good hiking shoes, and a sense of adventure!

Looking for an fun and easy, beginner-friendly hike with beautiful scenery?

This hike is perfect for those who prefer safer hiking routes, great panoramic views, and the convenience of public restrooms nearby.

We'll meet at 8:45 AM to group together and have an early meet and greet and start our hike at 9:00 AM, so arrive early to secure parking and enjoy the fresh morning air before the day warms up.

The trail offers moderate inclines, making it a great choice for casual hikers or anyone looking to enjoy nature without a strenuous climb once you get past the initial steep stretch.

Directions & Parking:

The trail starts at Stough Canyon Nature Center, where you’ll find a parking lot (arrive early to secure a spot).

If the lot is full, you can park along Walnut Ave and walk up to the trailhead.

Where to Meet:

Look for the Stough Canyon Nature Center building near the parking lot at 2300 Walnut Ave, Burbank, CA 91504.

We’ll gather near the main entrance of the Nature Center, where there are benches and an informational sign about the trails.

Important Notes:

• This will be my second time hiking this trail, and I am not a professional guide—we’ll explore and experience it together!
• Be sure to bring water, comfortable hiking shoes, and sun protection.

Also, pack some snacks and a light lunch — we’ll take a break up in the mountains to relax, enjoy the views, chat, and have a bite to eat together.

• Be mindful of others on the trail and respect nature.
• Parking is free (come early to avoid the crowd later in the day; street parking also available)
• Leashed dogs are welcomed and allowed
