Heartland Chapter Florida Trail Association

The blue loop trail, starting at Picnic Lake is a lovely 2 mile somewhat hilly trail.

We will leave promptly at 8:00 to get back in time for the chapter meeting.

Don't forget water, bug repellent and good shoes.

I'll stop at the Welcome Center at 7:30 , and give them your names This way you do not have to pay. From there it is about another mile driving on Tenoroc Mine Road to get to Picnic Lake. I will be standing at the end of the cones before the check-in station. Give me you name & I will check you off, Then go straight to Picnic Lake to check in with the hike leader. I will then give my list to the check attendant. You must be signed up on Meetup to attend.

If you come on your own there is a $ 3.00 entrance fee.

Please join us for the Saturday, SEPTEMBER 21, 2024 Chapter meeting……our first meeting of the fall season! We will meet at the Tenoroc Fish Management Area, Picnic Pavilion, in Lakeland.

UPDATE: The chapter has been given high quality camping gear, outdoor related books etc. from a long time member. We will be accepting CASH DONATIONS for these items. All proceeds will be used to fund trail maintenance. PLEASE CONSIDER HELPING THIS WORTHY CAUSE👍

Directions: Take Tenoroc Mine Road off North Combee Road to the Welcome booth. Indicate that you are attending the Heartland Chapter meeting. Continue straight for about 1/2 mile to the left turn to Picnic Lake. There will be a sign posted. The parking is opposite the Pavilion. Modern bathrooms are available.

We will be catching up on upcoming hikes, outreach events and options for trail work.

Bring a lunch for after the meeting.
