About us

30 percent of HSPs are extroverts and enjoy being around people and who get energy from social interactions. but it can present its own set of challenges.

  • A Highly Sensitive Person, or HSP, is a term coined by psychologist Elaine Aron. According to Aron’s theory, HSPs are a subset of the population who are high in a personality trait known as sensory-processing sensitivity, or SPS. Those with high levels of SPS display increased emotional sensitivity, stronger reactivity to both external and internal stimuli—pain, hunger, light, and noise—and a complex inner life.

This makes an HSP is someone who is particularly aware and reactive to their environment and the people around them, often very sensitive to the needs of others and can be deeply affected by the emotions of those around them. They may also have a strong connection to nature and the natural world.

Adding extroversion to the equation puts us in "in the fire", so to speak. We have to work hard to balance our energy and our process our social interactions. It this sounds like you, this is your group!

We will try online an in person meetings. I am a professional support group facilitator, but I am not trying to monetize this group. My goal is to build a network of like-minded people and hopefully make some new friends as well.
