Hike the North Country Trail in Western Minnesota

Join Detroit Mountain, Project 412, the Laurentian Lakes Chapter for a family-friendly event as we host Mikah Meyer of Minneapolis. Mikah will be talking about his 3-year long road trip to visit all 419 units of the National Park System.
There will be a social in the lobby of Detroit Mountain's lodge from 6-7pm with booths, snacks, and a cash bar. Mikah's program will start at 7pm in the cafeteria area.

This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Metropolitan Regional Arts Council, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.

Bonus opportunity: Hike with Mikah and the Laurentian Lakes Chapter on the NCT through Frazee to the Jacob Everear troll. Meet at the Frazee Lion's Park Trailhead at 2pm on Sunday, 4/19.

Lake Brophy Park is a little-known jewel of a county park. It is host to events near Alexandria, Minnesota. In keeping with our goal of finding new places to hike in our region, this hike will be a fun addition. The park hosts a variety of activities, including almost 4 miles of hiking trails through prairie grasslands. The trail has lots of loops and hill vistas. You will be able to make a hike that fits your interests.

After the hike, we will gather for more stories and good food at Leaf Valley Merchantile Bar and Grill in Garfield, MN.
