About us

This group is all about hiking with dogs! We mostly hike in the Sacramento foothills or high sierra east of Sac. We try to find places where the dogs can be off-leash responsibly. We limit the number of dogs that are allowed to join to keep the energy levels manageable and to make it easier to be off leash. We are not a fast paced hiking group. We take our time, enjoy the view, take pictures, chat and generally have a good time!

We do not allow dogs with prong collars or shock collars to attend our hikes.
We also do not allow dogs that are unaltered. All dogs must be spayed/neutered.
All hikers must clean up after their dog, pack it in-pack it out.

From All Trails: Explore this 5.5-mile out-and-back trail near Sacramento, California. Generally considered a moderately challenging route, it takes an average of 1 h 41 min to complete. This is a popular trail for birding, hiking, and running, but you can still enjoy some solitude during quieter times of day. The trail is open year-round and is beautiful to visit anytime. Dogs are welcome, but must be on a leash.

I will post what I am wearing, what I look like, and where I am standing once I arrive so there is no confusion. I will be starting the walk exactly at 9:30am so please arrive around 9:15 to 9:20am to ensure you can find parking and are part of the pack. It says dogs on leash, but please use your best judgement if they go off leash.

The address provided via All Trails and Google Maps is: 9517 Mira Del Rio Dr, Sacramento, CA 95827, not the address listed below, but it wouldn't accept the address. :) There is a small dirt lot. If you look it up on Google Maps you'll see it.

As always, RSVP for the number of dogs you are bringing. You and 1 dog=just you, you +2 dogs = +1. If you are bringing extra people, no need to RSVP for them. Main concern is the pack size.
