Correction: On Global Warming

Correction: Warren Blier will not be able to travel all the way to the Bay Area to join us in person, Sunday, August 30, at 11:00 AM. Instead, he will join us in our online meeting, where he will answer your questions and contribute to our discussion. You can join us, too, either in person or online, as we discuss global warming.

Warren will trace 500 million years of natural climate variation, then zoom into present-day greenhouse gas emissions and climate change, and impacts of the latter. He’ll also look at a profound disconnect in understanding and beliefs between climate scientists and the general public.

Warren has a Ph.D. In Atmospheric Science from the University of Washington, was an Assistant Professor of Atmospheric Dynamics at UCLA, and long served as the NOAA/National Weather Service Science and Operations Officer for the greater San Francisco and Monterey Bay Regions, from which he retired a few years ago.
