Humanist Program: Life After Belief: The Struggle Out of the Evangelical Church

Details
Sharing stories of becoming a Humanist is a powerful way to help others understand Humanism and feel better about Humanists. Especially potent are the stories of those with a career in religion who’ve changed their ways of thinking.
A former church planter will tell his story called “Life After Belief: The Struggle Out of the Evangelical Church that Almost Took My Life and My Family.” He will share reasons behind his leaving the faith and declaring himself "non-religious." He will share the impact on him, his family, and the large church he started and tell how they are building a new Life After Belief for themselves, their kids, and a new community of those going through the same issues.
He led a large church planting network and started several larger churches in the Northeast Ohio area and also in Utah. From multi-site church plants to conference creator of "The Sticks" to journeying into what he now calls being a "non-religious" person, he and his family have seen it all [mostly the bad] in this journey out. From financial ruin, depression and suicidal tendencies, losing family and most of his friends, and having to start a brand new career path, this has been a huge struggle leaving the evangelical church world and faith behind. He is 3 years removed from the church world and is finally seeing some light at the end of the tunnel! He has been married to his wife of 18 years and has 3 amazing children.
Join us at 12:30 for pizza in the meeting room!
