Eeyore’s Birthday Shenanigans: Let’s Keep Austin Weird!

Alright, alright, alright—time to celebrate one of Austin’s most beloved (and delightfully eccentric) traditions: Eeyore’s Birthday Party at Pease Park! Expect live music, drum circles, colorful costumes, and that trademark “Keep Austin Weird” energy. Whether you’re a longtime Austinite or brand new in town, this festival is an unforgettable way to meet folks and soak up the city’s free-spirited vibe.

What’s the Plan?
• We’ll gather at our designated spot in Pease Park around 11:00 AM and hang out all afternoon. Feel free to arrive whenever you can.
• You’ll find food and drink options from 501(c)(3) nonprofit vendors on-site, plus beer, cider, and non-alcoholic beverages for purchase. (Remember: outside alcoholic beverages and glass containers are not allowed in the park.)
• Bring your musical instrument if you want to join in the drum circles—just keep it non-amplified!

Key Things to Know (Per the Official FAQs):
• Rain or Shine: Eeyore’s Birthday may be postponed if bad weather hits. Any postponements are typically announced by mid-late morning on Saturday on their official website or Facebook page. If it’s postponed, it’s usually moved to the following Saturday.
• Tents: Closed tents aren’t allowed; see-through tents are discouraged and may be taken down at the event staff’s discretion.
• No Outside Alcohol/Glass: You can’t bring in alcohol or glass bottles, but you can purchase drinks at the event.
• No Solicitation: Only approved nonprofit vendors can sell items or distribute flyers/pamphlets—please respect the rules and don’t bring things to hand out.
• Pets: Dogs and other pets are welcome on leash, but be mindful of the crowd. If you bring your furry friend, keep them hydrated—there’s a free water station behind the main stage.
• Shuttles & Parking: There’s no parking at Pease Park. Free shuttles run all day from designated state parking lots; peak times are noon to 4 PM. No large coolers allowed on the shuttle.
• Bike-Friendly: You’re encouraged to bike, but walk it through the park once you arrive (no riding in the park).

What to Bring:
• Blanket/Chairs: A comfy spot to sit and enjoy the music or people-watching.
• Cash/Card: Some vendors may only accept cash.
• Sun Protection & Water Bottle: There’s a free water refill station behind the main stage; no Styrofoam coolers allowed.
• Costumes/Face Paint/Flower Crowns: Get as funky as you like, or just come as you are.
