[FYP] Birding with Shoal Creek Conservancy + Travis Audubon

Details

Join Shoal Creek Conservancy and Travis Audubon Society for a relaxed and rewarding spring bird walk at one of North Austin’s most beautiful green spaces—Beverly S. Sheffield Northwest District Park.

We’ll explore the area around the pond and playground, then follow Shoal Creek south toward Park Street and the open stretch of creek at the park’s edge. This time of year offers a rich mix of birdlife—expect everything from Green Herons and Red-Shouldered Hawks to woodpeckers, chickadees, titmice, and Northern Cardinals. With luck, we’ll also spot migrating warblers, flycatchers, and swallows passing through on their seasonal journey.

🪶 All experience levels are welcome—whether you're a seasoned birder or just curious. We’ll have some binoculars to share if you need them!

Please note: While most of the park is accessible, some areas along Shoal Creek may not be. We’ll adjust our route as needed to keep the walk inclusive and enjoyable for everyone.

Meet us next to the pool at 7:15 AM sharp!
Let’s see what feathered surprises the morning brings.
