Initial Curiosity

As of when I write this description, I have yet to post OR choose a topic to go with for this date; a vote hasn't yet ended (refer to my November 5th "event" post).

The plan is for an attendee to pick a topic for today prior to the meeting. A topic within the view of (meaning not necessarily exclusive to) philosophy, spirituality, music or political. It can even be a topic related to/similar to one I’ve previously posted. If no topic is selected prior, we can talk at the beginning and I'll choose one the day of (whether it's my own or someone else's).

Is hierarchy an inherently negative structure, regardless of the group or scale of the group (large or small)? Is it negative on the basis of being capitalistic? Is there a such thing as fairness within hierarchy? Any or all of these type of questions are political yes, but might possibly also be thought of through philosophy and/or music.
