Sumba, just one-hour flight from Bali, is known as the “forgotten island” of Indonesia and a well-kept secret amongst surfers and adventurers. Its traditional culture is mostly intact. Malnutrition and infant mortality remain key challenges on the island.
The SurfAid Sumba Challenge is an opportunity to surf epic breaks, explore pristine beaches, and see SurfAid's life-changing work in action. Witness how your fundraising efforts directly empowers the health, well-being and resilience of our Sumba partner communities.
Participants are challenged to raise a minimum of $3,000. Every dollar goes towards supporting SurfAid's work helping remote surf communities access basic services like healthcare, clean water and food security. The participants can join the 7-day trip to Bali and Sumba Islan for $3100 (The price is subject to change. It covers the ticket form Bali to Sumba and accommodation) after reaching the fundraise goal. Click the link below for more information - https://surfaidsumbachallenge.com/

SurfAid works in Indonesia’s surfing heartlands – the Mentawai, Rote, Sumba and Sumbawa and in Solomon Islands. In these extremely isolated areas where few visitors except surfers go, mothers and children are faced with some of the highest mortality rates in the world. Up to 70% of these deaths can be prevented by improving access to the core elements of SurfAid’s Mother and Child Health Programs, clean water & sanitation, basic healthcare and nutrition.
