Mental Health Meetup: Journey mapping for life with chronic conditions

In 2025, IHL conducted a survey to understand how internationals in Leuven and the surrounding areas were doing. One thing internationals mentioned they needed more of was mental health support.

So we are launching Mental Health Meetups at IHL. Each month, different topics will be featured relating to mental health. The events will be hosted by mental health professionals, bringing their expertise to the international community.

These events will be in a variety of formats. Some will be informational, conversational, interactive, etc. It's a safe space to participate how you would like (active or passive).

Journey mapping for life with chronic conditions

Living with a chronic condition can be a journey full of twists and turns. Add in detours through new countries and unfamiliar healthcare systems, and the path can become even more complex. In this workshop, we will use journey mapping* to step back and reflect on both challenges and successes. Through group discussion, we will find community in shared experiences and inspiration in our unique perspectives. All are welcome—no diagnosis needed! Whether you have been navigating physical or mental health struggles, on this path for 6 months or 20 years, or walking alongside a loved one, come join us and map out your unique journey.
