Details
Location: We meet in the parking lot at San Marco Park and ride out at 9:00 AM.
Please come early to get your bike ready (if this is your first ride with the group, the suggested arrival time is 8:30 AM).
The Route:
Let's pack a sandwich and ride over to North Lake.
Click here to preview or download this week's route. We'll ride out the Freeway Trail and connect to the University Trail. This will take us through a section of the Sand Canyon Wash, where we'll exit at Yale and ride up to South Lake. We'll find a nice picnic spot at the Lake, somewhere around 7.6 miles (halfway) into the ride. The return will take us out the Springbrook Sidepath to Jeffrey Open Space, Walnut Trail, and Harvard Sidepath. FUN!
We will stay together so that no one gets dropped. Faster riders may choose to go ahead and loop back.
Helmets are mandatory for all rides. We will be observing standard bicycle safety rules, and the host will do a short safety speech before we ride. Tail lights are highly recommended.
Silver Spokes is a cycling group specifically designed for senior women who want to stay active on their bikes and socialize, while not aiming to go fast or long. Road bikes and e-bikes are welcome.
