Ansible/Linux Basics Review - WORKSHOP

Details

• What we'll do

  • We did this last November and had a lot of good feedback.

  • Short notice but were getting the band back together for Linux Basics Review! Software Freedom School leadership (https://www.meetup.com/sofreeus/) will join me and Erin Huffaker - If you are new Linux, on the fence about making a career change, or just want to add to your existing skills and would like to be part of a supportive group of folks while you do it, please come out no matter your skill level.

  • You'll have fun while learning and walk away with solid documentation of exercises and maybe even a few friends.

  • If you are a Linux pro and just want to network and/or teach for us in the future, we're looking for more teachers!

  • We'll run through some initial set up and and ssh connection and take it from there. We'll also go through some basic Ansible scripts for the same subject matter.

  • Free pizza and snacks for the event and we'll head over to Wonderland for a few brews after if enough interest.

  • Learning Linux basics is a great springboard into other things (such as Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes, cloud, etc....). Even if you don't want to dive all the way down the Linux rabbit hole, picking up the basics will help with all kinds of software dev, devops, data science endeavors.
