EVERYONE IS WELCOME TO JOIN KEN'S WALKS, a friendly group of walkers (Over 23,000 Members) mainly featuring WALKS in all the green parts of London (in places you have probably never heard of) and surrounding countryside and coastal towns. Change your life (physical health and mental health) dramatically for the better!!
YOU CAN JOIN KEN'S WALKS and EVENTS FOR FREE and just pay a £5 contribution for each event attended!!!
THERE IS NO JOINING FEE. INSTEAD FROM JANUARY 1st 2024 THERE WILL BE A COLLECTION OF A £5 CONTRIBUTION FOR EACH WALKING EVENT in LONDON ATTENDED (known as the 'pay as you go' option) OR YOU CAN PURCHASE A KEN'S EVENTS CARD (only £25 for a full 12 months validity from date of purchase, (known as the 'season ticket' and equivalent to only £2.08 pence per month), thus allowing you to save loads of money if you come to more than 5 walks a year!
Social Events: Our walks are social walks, where the emphasis is on meeting new people, enjoying nature, healthy exercise, and fresh air. Our walks are not interrupted with running commentaries or historical lectures, although occasionally features of significance may be pointed out. As such our walks will be continuous with few stops and it is your responsibilty to keep walkers ahead in view and to follow the direction of the walk. We always end the walk at a pub with a convivial atmosphere where the socialising can continue. Be sure to join us in the pub for the whole experience!

Lancaster Gate Tube Station, Lancaster Gate Tube Station, Bayswater Road, W2 2UE, London, GBA 4 mile walk through Central London Parks and Canal.
WALK START POINT: Lancaster Gate Station (Central Line - Zone 1)
WALK DISTANCE: Approx 4 miles.
WALK END POINT: Paddington Station and a local Wetherspoons pub .
WALK ROUTE: Kensington Gardens, Queensway,Grand Union Canal.
WALK STOP OUT POINT: Nearby bus routes during most of the walk.

Give up the city streets for a day and breathe some fresh air. Improve your overall fitness levels and make some great new friends at the same time. Take this opportunity to visit green parts of London, unknown to most people, and that you would not otherwise have an opportunity to see.

Our walks are social walks, where the emphasis is on meeting new people, enjoying nature, healthy exercise, and fresh air. Our walks are not interrupted with running commentaries or historical lectures, although occasionally features of significance may be pointed out. As such our walks will be continuous with few stops and it is your responsibilty to keep walkers ahead in view and to follow the direction of the walk.
RISKS for all walks: Please dress appropriately for weather conditions and carry a bottle of water and necessary medication. You need to be moderately fit for this walk and be able to walk for four miles without a break. In these walks we use; pavements, cross busy roads, public parkland, towpaths alongside water, other public paths, rights of way, bridlepaths, country lanes and other established paths and tracks through woodland, bush and countryside. Please only wear good sturdy shoes, preferably walking boots and take care as surfaces may be uneven, tree roots may protrude, there may be low overhanging branches and some paths are also used by joggers and cyclists and sometimes cars (country lanes). Some tracks may be muddy and slippery. On occasion wild,domestic and farm animals may also encountered. If you require insurance for these walks then you must arrange this yourself.
No large dogs or small children please.
Please arrive in good time to allow opportunity to use toilets at the start of the walk as there may not be any toilet breaks available during the walk.

GREEN £5 WALK 🌳🌲🌿: WIMBLEDON COMMON and PUTNEY HEATH
Wimbledon Railway Station, The Broadway, SW19 7NL, London, GBA Green Walk through Wimbledon Common into Putney Heath, then downhill into Putney and the Thamespath.
WALK START: Wimbledon Station (National Rail). When you arrive at the start look for Ken with the Meetup/ 'KEN'S EVENTS' Flag/Sign/Badge.
WALK DISTANCE: Approx 6 miles with some gradients.
WALK ROUTE: Wimbledon Common then into Putney Heath, then downhill into Putney and the Thamespath before ending at the Rocket Bar near the station,
WALK FINISH: At the Rocket pub, not far from Putney Station (National Rail).
STOPOUT POINTS: Never far from London Bus routes.
COST of EVENT:

NOTICE of RISKS applicable for all walks:
Please dress appropriately for weather and terrain conditions.
Only wear good sturdy shoes, with ankle support, and carry a bottle of water and necessary medication. You need to be moderately fit for this walk and able to walk for at least 8 miles. This walk is suitable for the average experienced hill walker. Expect some hills. Do not attend this walk if you do not fit that description or if you have a medical condition (especially heart and/or lung conditions) that may impact upon your capability of completing the walk.
These walks are city walks and countryside walks where all the usual risks of injury during such walks apply resulting from interactions with road traffic, joggers, cyclists, e-scooters,other members of the public, animals (farm, domestic and wild), plants (allergic reactions), uneven surfaces, including portruding tree roots and potholes and there may be low overhanging branches.
In these walks we cross busy roads, use towpaths alongside water, bridlepaths, country lanes and sometimes ill defined paths and tracks through woodland, bush and countryside. Some tracks may be muddy and slippery, and conditions may be wet and icy. The walk leader is not and does not purport to be a professional guide, or a medical professional, but is instead a like minded individual who also enjoys hill walking and who is familiar with the intended route.
Do not attend this walk unless you accept and consent to the above risks. If you require insurance for these walks then you must arrange this yourself.

CANARY WHARF WINTER LIGHTS🎄 £5 WALK
Canary Whart Elizabeth Line Station, Adams Place, London, GBENJOY the SPECTACLE of LONDON'S WINTER LIGHTS FESTIVAL. on this £5 tour.
This is a short circular walking tour (approx 2 hours) taking in some of Canary Wharf's most spectacular Winter Lights.
For 2026, the festival’s theme is ‘Dreamscape’, which promises an ‘an exploratory journey of the surreal and ethereal’. Expect interactive displays, colourful projections and magnificent installations from world-renowned light artists, as well as pop-up food stalls to keep you fuelled along the way.
Afterwards there will be an option to head off to a local bar for something to eat/drink to continue the socialising.
Please note that the meetup point is at Canary Wharf Elizabeth Line Station (Exit near Adams Plaza)
The Tour lasts approx 2.5 hours, so please wear warm clothing. The Tour ends at a large pub in Canary Wharf at around 9pmish.
When you arrive at the starting point look for the Ken's Events Flag.
Cost of Event £5 :
To allow for maximum flexibility for attendees, this event is free to RSVP. The £5 fee is only payable when you attend.

Walking is one of life's great social activities. See new parts of London and surrounding countryside. Visit places you would not normally have a reason to come to.
WALK START POINT: Battersea Power Station (Northern Line)
WALK ROUTE: See the fashionable shops of the new Battersea Retail Development and contrast with the greenery and nature of Battersea Park, and the serenity of the Thames, before finishing the walk in a large pub close to Putney Stations. Above photo is of the Festival of Britain Fountains in Battersea Park.
WALK DISTANCE: Approx 5.5 miles.
WALK END POINT: A large pub near Putney Bridge Station (District Line) and East Putney Bridge(National Rail)
STOP OUT POINT: Our route goes close to several London bus routes
