MAGICAL WINTER LIGHTS WALK AND PUB SOCIAL

SEE CANARY WHARF'S IMPRESSIVE 'FESTIVAL of LIGHT' DISPLAYS on this tour, followed by SOCIALISING with CHEAP FOOD and DRINKS in a convivial pub atmosphere.
The award winning 'Winter Lights' installation in Canary Wharf showcases some of the most imaginative and exciting international artists working with light art today. Winter Lights festival is the largest of its kind in London. The night time vista at Canary Wharf is transformed by over 20 stunning installations. Thus providing a spectacle of light that leaves the dark winter evenings aglow. See state-of-the-art light technology delivering spectacular artworks, installations and experiences – many of them interactive or responsive. See light installations by some of the most innovative light artists across the globe with some new commissions alongside pieces never before seen in the UK. From a family of giant mammoths at Riverside, to an immersive fibre-optic tunnel in Wood Wharf, there is sure to be something to generate awe and spark the imagination and interests of everyone.
PLEASE NOTE THE LATER THAN USUAL START TIME OF 7.30PM.
The walking tour finishes at approx. 9.45pm when we ariive for the pub social.
WALK START POINT: We are meeting outside Jubilee Line Station at Canary Wharf, by the 'Winter Lights' neon sign. Look for Ken with the Green and Red Lights, outside the station.
WALK DISTANCE: Approx 1.5 miles.
WALK ROUTE: Commencing from Canary Wharf Jubilee Line Station we follow a broadly circular route around Canary Wharf.
WALK END POINT: At the 'Ledger Building' pub Near West India Quay, and close to several tube, DLR and Elizabeth Line Stations.
WALK STOP OUT POINT: Nearby bus routes and stations during most of the walk.

RAIN POLICY: Our walks normally go ahead as planned even if it rains. Light rain is not usually a problem . However if torrentail rain is forecast, please check back to this webpage on the day of the event around 4pm for the latest update.
