CHRISTMAS WALK and CHRISTMAS LUNCH in WHITEWEBBS COUNTRY PARK.
There is the usual £5 fee for the walk.

Itinerary

  • Meet at 11.15am at Gordon Hill Station (Trains from Moorgate, and St Pancras (1 change))
  • Arrive at Whitewebbs House at approx 1.00pm for Carvery Lunch at 1.15pm (including optional Turkey) with unlimited vegetables for around £13.50.
  • Leave Whitewebbs House for return walk to Gordon Hill Station at 3.15pm
  • Arrive at Gordon Hill Station at approximately 4pm where walk will finish.
  • For those who want to continue the festivities - Meet in the Wetherspoons pub 12 minutes walk away from Gordon Hill Station. See pub details below.

WALK START: Meet outside Gordon Hill Station at 11.15am.
WALK FINISH:Gordon Hill Station at approx 4.30pm
WALK DISTANCE: Approx 3 miles with 2 hour lunch break.

This is a circular walk starting and finishing for those who cannot stay after the walk at Gordon Hill Station (Zone 5) . Make sure you bring some appropriate outdoor walking shoes as it may be muddy in places. Please note that the first (and only) toilet stop will be at Whitewebbs House after about 50 minutes.

On this occasion we will have a Pub Carvery break in the middle of the walk at the Toby Carvery in Whitewebbs House for 2 hours (Roast dinner for £13.50 approx. - additional or alternative courses can be ordered at extra cost as appropriate).

WhiteWebbs Country Park was originally part of Enfield Chase and were used by Henry IV for hunting. Whitewebbs House was built in 1791.

TAKE CARE: Good sturdy shoes are recommended for this walk. Also please dress appropriately for weather conditions and carry a bottle of water. This is a countryside walk so please be prepared for uneven paths and tracks, tree roots and low overhanging bushes and tree branches. You need to be moderately fit for this walk.

DRINKS & FOOD: On this occasion we will have a Pub break in the middle of the walk at the Toby Carvery in Whitewebbs House for 2 hours (Roast dinner for approximately £13).

Festivities can continue at the Moon Under Water public House at Chase Side Enfield, 115-117 Chase Side Enfield EN2 6NN, being a nice Wetherspoons venue the drinks and food are also reasonably priced.

The pub is conveniently located in the centre of Enfield, there are buses 121/307 to Oakwood Tube Station (Piccadilly line) and 329 to Wood Green (Piccadilly line) or there are main line stations at Enfield Chase and Gordon Hill (15 minutes to Finsbury Park - Victoria and Piccadilly lines) and at Enfield Town - 15 minutes to Seven Sisters - Victoria line or 30 minutes to Liverpool Street. All stations are zone 5 and you can use Oyster card.

COST: Free for holders of the Ken's Events Card. Otherwise there is a £5 fee for the walk.
