We will park/ meet at Green River golf club at 8:50
5215 greenriver Corona CA
But DONT GO UP TO GOLF CLUB, keep going down on the road to parking under the 91 freeway
We will start the hike at 9 am sharp!

We will take pipeline trail to Sierra peak and descend via coal canyon trail.

Once on the summit, you are rewarded with great views in every direction, assuming we get a nice clear day. We will take a break along the summit, enjoy the views, a snack and drinks.

After the hike, for those interested, we will have lunch at J sushi on greenriver road.

HIKE STATS/INFORMATION:

Location: 5215 greenriver Corona CA, parking under 91 freeway to Sierra Peak.

Distance: 12.7 miles loop, Out-and-back round trip

Hiking time: Approximately 5 hours (round trip).

Elevation Gain/Loss: 2,713 Feet

Difficulty: Intermediate. Steep part up is hard

NOT FOR BEGINNERS

Except for breaks and scrambling to the summit, the pace will be approximately 2.5 mph.

WHAT TO BRING

  • Good attitude! You will be hiking at least 5 hours.

  • Bring plenty of water (at least 3L).

  • Sun hat, sunscreen, or sunshade shirt, majority of the hike is exposed.

  • Energy snacks.

  • Boots / trail runners with good traction, and tracking poles advised.

  • If you have microspikes, in case of snow around the peak, but most likely not needed.
