The Internet of Things (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internet_of_things) (IoT) is the internetworking of physical devices, including vehicles and drones, buildings embedded with electronics, software, sensors, actuators, and network connectivity that enable these objects to collect and exchange data.
The Raspberry Pi (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Raspberry_Pi) is a small, cheap single-board computer with a 40 pin header for reading and controlling sensors and actuators. It was originally developed for teaching but has become a powerful IoT prototyping tool. Raspberry Pi can run Raspbian (a Debian derivitive) or Windows and supported programing languages include C, Python, and Java.

Edward A. Ipser, Jr., PhD is President of IpserLab (http://www.ipserlab.com), a startup foundry. He has founded, cofounded, joined, and advised many startups. As founder of MarketFusion he raised $23M in venture capital. He also founded SVASE (Silicon Valley Association of Software Entrepreneurs) in 1996 which became the premier Silicon Valley entrepreneurial organization before merging into SVForum. He earned a PhD in CSCI from USC.
Ryan Harijanto, cofounder and CTO for Plalia (http://www.plalia.com), is a serial entrepreneur and technology expert who learned to code on his own as a teenager. Ryan has over 16 years of software and infrastructure development experience and has lead projects for companies such as Netflix, Shutterstock, and HotelTonight, in addition to founding his own companies and serving as the Chief Technology Officer for various startups. Additionally, Ryan is the Founder and Lead Instructor of the DevTraining Program, which he established for the social purpose of inspiring, developing, and educating the next generation of engineers who will contribute to building our future. Ryan is passionate about leading-edge technologies and applying them across various industries. In his free time, Ryan enjoys trying out the latest technologies, cooking for his friends and meeting other liked minded technology enthusiasts.
