LGBTQ Cinema & Culture

This group is dedicated to using queer films as a lens to examine larger cultural, political, spiritual, and theoretical issues surrounding LGBTQ identity and experience.

How it works: 

• During COVID, and possibly after, this will be a virtual discussion group only. No IRL events are planned for now.

• Zoom links are sent out when you RSVP.

• You'll screen the film on your own in advance. This is not a "watch-party" group.

• The group focuses mainly on unconventional queer cinema. A Kanopy membership is strongly recommended; a subscription to the Criterion Channel is also a good idea.

• Sometimes links to additional short readings will be provided. They won't be required, but they may come up in discussion.

• We encourage the participation of all LGBTQ-identified people and allies. Our selections will reflect a diverse range of queer experiences, cultures and identities.
