This group is for anyone who finds themselves with these little inner cravings for travel and the mountains. We welcome anyone, especially beginners or recreational hikers, of all ages and fitness levels.
Our aim is to encourage more outdoor travel and experiential learning; to inspire and encourage each other to step out of their comfort zone and enjoy the mountains along with new learning experiences. We wish to encourage a healthy living and fitness, along with appreciating nature as a lifestyle.
Also, we do not wish to be little monsters as travellers. We strive to promote sustainable travel, along with understanding and appreciating local culture. We hope that the experience more than just enjoying yourself and "YOLO".
Therefore, we try to make our trips as affordable and accessible for people.
For this meetup group, feel free to have discussions on trips or any questions on travelling or hiking.
Our trips primarily revolve around having mountains in the region. We do less of Malaysia and more of the other parts of the world to enjoy the different mountain ranges and areas in the world. However, we do some hikes in Malaysia just to build confidence and trust, or also for practical reasons as they usually don't require leave.
Do not worry if you are totally new! We wish to encourage newbies or first-time travellers/hikers/trekkers.
We will try to cater for different trips of varying difficulties. On top of that, each trip will come with advised training and detailed info-kits and briefing, explaining the difficulty and preparation for it!
You can fill up some forms if you wish to be contacted to help arrange trips for you. You may fill up the forms multiple times if you are interested in various trips, or just drop me a WA or email. These forms allow us to help group and gather people together to *make trips happen!* (Also helps for planning leave)

Gunung Berembun Jelebu (1,014m) is an interesting hike with the chance of visiting a WWII plane crash site, while hiking through a dense rainforest with waterfalls and streams, and fallen trees. There are many "Gunung Berembun" but this is the one located in Negiri Sembilan! We will be doing the classic route via Kampung Pantai.
It is considered a full day hike, slightly shorter than Ophir. This is usually used as a training hike, and exposure to different elements and exploring a more raw trail, rather than a hike for the view itself.
Who is this for?
- It is most suitable for those who just want an interesting full-day hike out similar to Ophir, but less curated than the usual ones.
- It serves as a good training or progressive hike for those who wish to do more hiking. Most do it as general training for hikes.
- Wish to experience a more raw rainforest trail with less crowds, and different elements
- Wish to do a full-day hike nearby without travelling so far
- Wish to see a WWII plane crash site and wreckage
- Not for those who are hunting for a beautiful viewpoint at the summit
How tough is it/How fit do I have to be?
Duration: ~5h up, and 4h down. You can u-turn at the summit instead of going to the crash site.
Distance: ~7km one way, total of 14km.It is generally tropical forest trail, with some river, rope portions.
However, if you have done other Malaysia hikes before like Gunung Datuk/Lambak/Ophir before, the terrain is not that much of a surprise, except it is more raw. With the presence of streams, please do expect leeches!

*If interested, please whatsapp [wa.me/+6588842635] or +65 8884 2635! Sign-ups are only confirmed after contacting us and joining the WA group! *
Mount Raung is one of the more "extreme" and exciting trails in Indonesia. It is known as the one with the ridgeline trek, requires the usage of ropes for safety and water conservation because there is no water supply along the trek.
It is also one of the most active volcano in Indonesia, with the largest crater in Java at over 2km in diameter. It used to be one of the more remote and least climbed 3,00m peak in Indonesia. Embarking on an expedition to Mt. Raung can be a pretty epic and unforgettable experience!
Mount Raung have four peaks is Bendera Peak, 17 Peak, Tusukgigi Peak and The One Sejati Peak (3,344 masl).
We are taking the route via Kalibaru to “Puncak Sejati” the highest peak of Mount Raung.
What to expect?
For Raung, you need to have strong stamina as we will be going to camp 7 on the 1st day. Also, you will need to be confident of walking ridge-lines and rocky terrains, and having to deal with some minor portions with ropes and rappelling. It is not totally technical, except for some portions.
Who is this for?
This is for anyone who wishes to challenge themselves after doing the main mountains in the region but wish for a further challenge or some technical challenge. This is not for beginners, as some prior hiking experience is required and an adventurous spirit. Good fitness is required to maximize success. Be prepared to at least 10+ hours per day.
Pre-requisites: Must have done a camping hike before, and be okay with using hands, climbing up steep sections. Suggestion to have done Semeru/Rinjani/Agung before attempting this.

Looking to explore a Via Ferrata trip called Gunung Nenek Semukut (~690m), located in the south of Tioman in a small and slightly off the beaten track of Kampung Mukut. This trip is focused on the via Ferrata trip, with a trip to the waterfall, and the rest of the time just enjoying the beach and chilling! This is because Kampung Mukut is not easy to get to and there isn't much to do around there. It is possible to do snorkeling as an add-on!
We will have to head to Mersing and take the ferry to Tioman, before taking another water transport to Mukut. As the ferry schedule is only out in July, the first day will likely just be travelling. This trip therefore requires 1 day of leave.
Who is this for?
=> Those who wish to try out via Ferrata without going to hike Kinabalu
=> Those who are not afraid of heights, willing or adventurous enough to explore Via Ferrata
=> Those who wish to do a core activity, and chill the rest of the time in a place that's away from all the hustle and bustle of a city
=> Do a variety of different activities (Hiking, Via Ferrata, waterfall, chill, snorkel)
=> This trip is not for super hardcore hikes or those who are looking for for a long hike.Details

Contact : +65 88842635 - [Hiking Series] M'sia - Fraser Hill Pine Tree Trail + Twin Peaks: Full day hike!Marsiling (NS8) MRT Station , Singapore 739044
*If interested, please whatsapp wa.me/+6588842635 or +65 8884 2635! Sign-ups are only confirmed after contacting us and joining the WA group! *
The Pine Tree Trail + Twin Peaks encompass two peaks, the Pine Tree Hill peak(1,456m) and Twin Peak Hill peak (1,505m). It is one of the more famous hikes at Fraser Hill, which is a hill resort famous for its cooling weather, highland rainforest and birdlife, further north of KL.
Hike Description
The Pine Tree Trail is relatively straight forward, with just gentle upslopes and downslopes, small undulating bends and takes around 3-4hours (1 way), until you reach the base, where the famous steep slope (almost vertical so please ascend and descent carefully) awaits just before the summit. From the summit, it takes 45 min to 1h to get to the next summit "Twin Peak"! At both peaks, you can get a view of the surroundings (lots of green!), with the Titiwangsa Range Pahang and perhaps Genting in the distance. The total duration is ~8h of hiking and almost 13km in total. Do note that there are no toilets or wash up area at the start of the trail/end of the trail! So please clean up before getting on the bus and we will head to the R&R.
We are aiming to do this in 1 day and be back in SG by Sat night, so this will be a fuss-free hike only itinerary! The focus is on hiking at a good pace! However, do expect to be back really late past midnight!
Who is this for?
=> People who wish to challenge themselves
=> Wish to do a decent full day hike
=> Wish to enjoy some cooling weather while hiking
=> Looking for a fuss free hike only itinerary, go for a solid hike in Malaysia and back to SG to sleepIt serves as a good training or progressive hike for those who wish to do more hiking. Most do it as training for other treks, like Kinabalu, or Nepal. Do note that we are looking to start early and descend by around 4-5pm, so we will have cut-off time. Prepare your own meals also!
How tough is it/How fit do I have to be?
The trek is around 8h, but can be 6h or less if you are faster. The elevation gain isn't much, it is just a long trail. If you can do Ophir, this should be similar. It is a solid full day hike (13+km), and the terrain is similar to most Malaysia hikes.
It is generally tropical forest trail, climbing over some logs. Only the steep slope requires the use of hands, and the part after the Pine Tree Summit can be quite muddy.
This is good for people who have some level of fitness and hiking experience. We will go at pace, if you can't keep up it is fine, because you can always stop at the Pine Tree Hill summit!
If you fail to make it you will have to turn back unfortunately, as the distance is long. We aim to descend latest by 6pm.

Email: info@littlemonsterstravel.netSome additional questions:
- How long is the ride to Fraser Hill
A: It can take 7-9h from Singapore
- Why are we not staying overnight?
A: This is so that we can save money on accommodation/driver cost. Also, we wish to be able to spend Sunday with family/friends/sleeping in Singapore, so we decided to spend Sat night travelling back than Sunday instead.
- Are there shower or toilet facilities at the trail?
A: There isn't, so this means bring your own wipes and toilets are all "natural". Don't worry we will stop by toilets before and after the hike.
- What do I have to look out for?
A: Logs, and leeches sometimes, depends on the weather. Also, make sure to have firm footing and go steadily during the steep slope!
- Where are the meals (breakfast/lunch/dinner?)
We might stop by breakfast if there is enough time, if not it'll be at the R&R. Lunch is packed by yourself/on the go during the hike. Dinner might be a quick one at the R&R when we wash up, but if everyone is fast we can have a good dinner!
