What we’re about
Meet other local fans of jazz, blues, and world music while enjoying live performances by top-notch musicians.
The San Francisco Bay Area is home to an amazing live music scene, with an assortment of venues that provide an intimate and affordable way to experience music as it's meant to be: spontaneous, inventive, and alive.
There's so much music happening in the Bay Area, there is something available every weekend for every taste and budget.
So join us, and use this Meetup group to connect with other music fans. We're mainly about listening to live jazz, but we also post blues shows, as well as tango, flamenco, world music, and cross-genre. In addition, we occasionally post theater events and films that have a music-related plotline or other "hook."
If you know about a show you'd like to see listed, feel free to suggest the event to Meetup organizers for hosting, or you can post the show on the "Discussions" page and invite your fellow Meetup members to attend with you.
Hope to see you at an upcoming show!

See all- 37th Annual Cotati Accordion FestivalCotati Plaza, Cotati, CA
I went to this festival a couple years ago. It is amazing the influence the accordion instrument has over the years, all over world and music genres. It’s a 2-day festival, reservation required, 9:30a-7p, in downtown Cotati, Sonoma County. See the schedule for both days. I’m selecting Sunday for the meetup though both days Zydeco specific is possible - see Options. You have to plan carefully, In my experience with music festivals it’s easy to burnout. So many to see but you can’t be everywhere. Travel, places to stay, parking, where to eat, etc. can frustrate and drain you. I suggest frequent breaks, just staying at one stage and improve your seating for the next performance can save energy. The organizers suggest taking the SMART train (+65 free), checkout the motel $99/day special, and shuttle parking features.
Press release: The 34th Annual Cotati Accordion Festival is a two-day, multicultural, multi-generational accordion extravaganza on 6 stages held in La Plaza Park in downtown Cotati.
Music at the festival will range from Conjunto to folk, jazz, Irish, Venezuelan, rock, classical, zydeco, western and more. The event will include a Jam Tent, a Zydeco Dance Party, a Student Stage, the Ray's Deli Stage, and two main stages, along with over 60 vendors selling crafts, accordions, food, wine and beer.
If you have ever wondered what it sounds like to hear a large chorus of accordions playing “Lady of Spain,” dance the polka to your heart’s content, or enjoy hearing musicians perform a wide variety of music on this versatile instrument, The Cotati Accordion Fest is the place for you.
