LV Meetup: Serverless CI Design + Publishing Python Packages
Local Variables will be meeting at IUSB in the Education and Arts building room 1025 (EA 1025) on Thursday, June 21 at 6 pm. Rob Ribeiro will talk about Serverless CI Design and Michael Barney will talk about Publishing Python Packages (see below). The talk starts at 6:30 pm. AgileThought is sponsoring food and refreshments this month. We need to get an accurate head count for food as we need to order in advance, so PLEASE RSVP ASAP IF YOU ARE COMING! Please join us for a great night of learning, discussion, and networking! As usual, there will be a JetBrains product giveaway too! "Modern CI/CD for Serverless Framework on AWS " by Rob Ribeiro Build your code, run tests, deploy a full stack, work with feature branches and tags, integrate manual approvals, and make it all work seamlessly. Automated deployments can be hard, but they don't have to be. We're going to take a look at a couple of different CI providers and show how to configure them to deploy Serverless framework projects to AWS in a repeatable and reliable fashion, so you can do the same without wanting to move to the country to become a beet farmer. “Publishing Python Packages” by Michael Barney If you’ve programmed in Python, you’ve probably had to run “pip install ”. But what if you want to have your own package that other people can “pip install”? Let’s take a look at the options you have and deploy a package to the Python Package Index (PyPI)! Logistics: Campus map: Parking: Event parking signs will direct people to the Education Arts parking lot. As long as you park in the designated lot, you won't need any sort of parking permit. If signs are missing, park in a lot close to the building. If anyone ever has issues with parking tickets during these events, please let us know.
