Hands on Session - Legacy Coderetreat

Details

A Coderetreat is a day/s dedicated to developing your skills in software development and architecture. The essence of a Coderetreat is to give you the opportunity to focus on “doing things right” rather than the “getting things done”.

A Legacy Code Retreat differs from the classic Coderetreat in that each pair will start a session with legacy code, spending 45 minutes on understanding, refactoring and making this code more maintainable. Multiple exercises will be introduced throughout the day, with partners and languages being rotated at the start of each new sessions. This helps to introduce new challenges, perspectives and approaches to working with legacy code with each iteration.

Please note: You will need to bring your laptop to the Coderetreat. The development environment and tooling that you want to use during the day is up to you.

Breakfast, drinks and lunch will be provided by the organisation (thanks to our sponsor Codurance).
