Walking with Vegans ~ Balcombe, Ardingly Reservoir & Ouse Valley Viaduct

Join me for an exploration of a quaint village, countryside, a reservoir, woodlands, and an architectural wonder, less than an hour out of London! *Please bring sensible walking shoes *There aren't many shops/vegan options so we will be picnicking; bring or buy plenty of water, snacks, ready meals etc :) Rough schedule of the day; 1) We'll gather at Flipside Vegan restaurant a short stroll from Farringdon Station, where we can get sandwiches, salads, drinks, as well as burgers & burritos & more OR Nip to Sainsbury's or Tesco nearby and get snacks for the train & picnic stuff for later OR Bring water, snacks/picnic stuff with you from home We'll head to Farringdon Station at 12.05pm or 12.10pm to allow time for buying our train tickets; Cheap day return to Balcombe is £10.20 ~ we can get on any train there or back till late 2) We'll aim to get the 12.24pm train, but if we miss that, we'll get the 12.54pm train 3) We'll arrive at Balcombe about 1.16pm or if on the later train, about 1.45pm 4) We'll wait about 10 minutes if anyone's meeting us there then we'll set off, walking through the village & taking a main road out and down to Ardingly Reservoir. We'll picnic beside the reservoir :) 5) We'll walk round the footpaths & woodland about the reservoir then we have a choice ; we can take a detour to the village of Ardingly and get a drink at a local pub, before setting off on the next leg of our journey, or miss out Ardingly altogether and head along a trail via the Ardingly Reservoir activity centre car park. 6) We will eventually cross a main road with Ouse Valley Viaduct right ahead of us, a stunning stretch of the train line with huge arches surrounded by countryside! We'll spend some time here relaxing, taking photos & snacking :) 7) From here we can pass by Balcombe place, a stunning old manor house, or miss that and go on a direct route back to Balcombe where we can get a drink or two at The Half Moon Inn :) OR Return to London *trains run at 22 minutes & 52 minutes past each hour* for dinner and drinks till late :) See you there! :)

Croydon Geekstraveganza

The Vegan Grill

This is our second one-off event in Croydon but we will consider having regular ones if there's interest. And this time we’ll also have table tennis to play! Bring your favourite games or just your inner geek -- we usually have games for everyone 🤓 Arrive whenever you like, stay as long as you want: new games will be starting as people come in, with often one or two that can be joined at any given time. Look out for the hosts (Steve and Antonio) if you'd like to be introduced to other attendees. Here's a list of games that are frequently available at our events: https://boardgamegeek.com/collection/user/geekstraveganza You can read a description of each game, and if anything tickles your fancy don't hesitate to post a message on the event to ask for a specific game (although we can't guarantee that the owner will attend or bring it). Also, you can preview the rules of some of our most loved games here: http://bit.ly/BoardgameRules -- but this is not at all required, we're always happy to teach/explain games to new players. Accessibility: this venue is fully accessible and has an accessible toilet. Yay!

See You Last Tuesday (C.U.L.T.)

Join the CULT! Well, everyone seems to think veganism is a cult anyway! 😉 But joking aside, we have excellent news. From March 2015, every Tuesday is a vegan day (http://www.tibits.ch/en/food-drink/vegan.html) at Tibits (http://www.tibits.ch/en/restaurants.html#tibits-london-heddon-street)! And having been thinking that we needed a relaxed, midweek social event in central London, this seemed to be the perfect opportunity. We have booked the entire basement on the last Tuesday of every month. So come on down, meet other vegans, and enjoy vegan food and drink. (You're welcome to arrive any time between our start and end times.) If you haven't been before, Tibits is a great "pay-by-weight" buffet-style restaurant just off Regent Street. And on their vegan days, everything (or at least almost everything) in the buffet is vegan. So don't forget to save room for their sticky toffee pudding! ACCESSIBILITY Tibits is a wheelchair-accessible venue with a lift to the basement (where we'll be) and a wheelchair-accessible toilet. However, the lift is a little hidden, so please ask staff. (A member of staff will usually greet customers as they enter.) FREE MEMBERSHIP. FREE ATTENDANCE. We're keen to ensure that cost is never a barrier to attendance - either for vegans on a low-income, or for non-vegans who don't want to pay to learn more about veganism. Therefore, we never charge for membership or attendance. But that doesn't mean that our group or our events don't cost us anything to run! So if you'd like to (and are able to) support our events and future projects, you can find out how to do so here: https://londonveganmeetup.co.uk/donations

Vegan Mexican Food & Beer Pairing Night

BrewDog Dalston

THIS IS A TICKETED EVENT- TICKETS ARE £22.00. Please do not RSVP to this event without first purchasing your ticket as the event may sell out. https://tickets.designmynight.com/london/bars/dalston/brewdog-dalston/vegan-mexican-food-beer-pairing-night?fbclid=IwAR1GhgG604w7WSHzDjiH0TYKPdzpKsuN0sOjpJoXsZfYJwfuXcHpJvn_RYE Ruthless Vegan is excited to announce a collaboration with the brand new Brewdog in Dalston! We're hosting a 5 course sampler menu that's paired with expertly selected beers from the brewery. Each beer compliments the flavour of the menu item- and don't worry, of course all of the beers are vegan! The Vegan's of East London are also hosting a huge meet up on Thursday night here at Brewdog Dalston, so come down and meet all the other vegans in town! We are proud to present the following dishes on Thursday the 27th of June: Tacos de Pollo Vegano Slow cooked just the way your abuelita (grandma) preps it all morning when she wakes up to the crow of a rooster that's never gotta worry about becoming supper one day. This Pollo Vegano has been shredded and stewed with roasted tomatoes and delicious spices, chillies and herbs. This taco is served with a cooling crema to top it off! Soyrizo Tacos This finely ground and heavily spiced rendition of Mexican style chorizo is made without the pork, half the fat and twice the flavour! This taco will make your mouth water with delight after you squeeze some fresh lime over the top of this taco that's been sprinkled with Mexican relish- a combination of coriander and fresh onion. Nachos con Queso Vegano Crispy tortilla chips served with a heavenly creamy cheese poured all over the top with Brewdogs delicious guacamole. Ceviche tostada con Avocado A whole tortilla has been fried flat to perfection and topped with a cooling Mexican salsa and Brewdogs guacamole. We want you to feel like you're beachside even though we're just around the corner from Dalston Kingsland Station. Creamy Avocado Kale Salad This salad is far from traditional, but we needed to add some greens to you dinner! Our kales bitter elements are massaged away with a lovely avocado dressing prepared with olive oil, cracked pepper, and is served with chopped tomatoes, thinly sliced red onion, and quinoa. Tickets for this event are priced at just £20pp for the 5 dish tasting menu and 5 matching vegan beers! Limited spaces available! Please note that if you do not give the ticket confirmation number when RSVPing then I will assume that you have not bought a ticket so if it is a seated event you would not be sat with the group. Thank you for your co-operation with this :)
