Retirement is great. But sometimes, you miss work. Not the commute. Not the meetings that could have been emails. Not the office politics. But the people. The conversations. The challenges. The sense of purpose.
Maybe you miss talking through a business problem with a colleague, sharing an idea with a client, mentoring someone, debating an interesting topic over lunch, or simply having a conversation with someone who has had a different career and life experience.
Long Island Recent Retirees is for people who are relatively new to retirement and are figuring out what comes next. It's about getting together with other recently retired—or soon-to-be retired—people for good conversation, new friendships, interesting ideas, and perhaps a little purpose along the way.
We might meet for coffee, lunch, a drink, a walk, or an occasional activity. Topics could range from business and current events to travel, investing, books, sports, entrepreneurship, community involvement, or whatever happens to be interesting that day. Just interesting people, good conversation, and a chance to build a new social circle for the next chapter of life.

First get together: Long Island Recent Retirees
Location not specified yetWe have some upcoming travel, so our first event is tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, 10/20 at 4:00. That date/time can be shifted, if needed to meet schedules. Thursday, 10/22 is an alternative option, if several of you comment that the Tuesday does not work.
I have three options for our first event, and I'd like your opinion on which you'd prefer. We can eventually do all of them, but want to vote on your preference for the first meeting.
