Longmont Walks does the Bolder Boulder
Details
### Details
TYPE: Walk/Run Event | PACE: Choose Your Own | TERRAIN: Paved streets | DISTANCE: 10K (6.2 miles)
Important: This is an official race, so participants will need to register individually through the event website. You can sign up here:
Bolder Boulder registration page (register online before the event).
This Longmont Walks adventure heads to one of Colorado’s most beloved traditions: the Bolder Boulder.
This will be a chill, party pace, walking group in the race where we will try to enjoy the most out of the course (The slip and slides, the dad bands, Elvis impersonators, free donuts on the course, free beer on the course, and on and on.)
We’ll carpool from Rogers Grove in Longmont to Boulder and start with the rest of the thousands of participants at 30th & Walnut, where the race staging area is located. From there, we’ll move through the famous 10K course that winds through Boulder with all the joyful chaos that makes the event special.
This particular Longmont Walks group will be walking the 10K at our usual pace and intentionally taking time to enjoy the experience—music, costumes, slip-n-slides, and all.
If you’ve ever been curious about the event but felt unsure about the pace or pressure, this is a great way to experience the event in a supportive way.
Prefer to run? Absolutely! Participants are welcome to run the race at their own pace and meet us afterward.
After the race, we’ll regroup in Boulder and celebrate together at Twisted Pine Brewing Company for food, drinks, and stories from the course.
I’ll be dressed up as Monty the Longmonster, and costumes are strongly encouraged. Half the fun of this event is the energy, the crazy costumes of people, and how the entire town comes out to celebrate.
### Walking Movement Leader:
Jorge: I walk, therefore I snack.
### How to Prepare:
Please register for the race ahead of time so you have your bib ready for race day. Wear comfortable walking or running shoes and dress for late-May conditions—layers and sunscreen are recommended. Bring water, a phone, and anything you might want for the post-race celebration. Costumes are welcome and encouraged!
### Meeting Site:
Carpool: Rogers Grove Park (Longmont) – 6:45 (May change) AM. We will probably be heading out with one of the walking waves so I imagine we will start at around 8:15-8:30 (somewhere in the MS). People can start in later waves but not earlier so no worries if you get an earlier wave. The waves after 8:00 AM are for party pace walking.
I highly recommend joining a carpool and trying to leave a around 7:00 to find a parking spot, get ready, and start the race. The race start is by Twisted Pine.
Race Start: 30th & Walnut Staging Area in Boulder – Official race start
You can text me at 520-390-8707 if you are running late or can’t find us.
