Hilltop to Malaga/Torrance Beach, Loop hike: city views from Rancho Palos Verdes

• What we'll do
About an 8 mile loop hike on a trail atop a mesa overlooking a golf course, then a paved road thru a neighborhood, then a dirt trail in the Malaga dunes, then paved road again stopping at the fountain full of naked frolickers. Then we make our way to the top of cliffs, avoiding beach sand for a mile, as walking down the cliffs to the beach is not allowed from July 3rd to 6th. Then we start looping back on sidewalks towards the fountain. Then back onto a trail on the border of Torrance and Palos Verses Estates for 2 miles or so...and walk along the south border of the golf course, back up the residential street to our starting spot.

DIRECTIONS TO TRAILHEAD: take the 405 freeway to Hawthorne Blvd, go south past Pacific Coast Highway. Turn right on Palos Verdes Drive North, Then turn left onto Silver Spur Road and then right onto Montemalaga Drive. You will pass an open canyon which is Malaga Canyon. Keep going. Soon you will pass Grayslake road. 20 houses west of Grayslake is another open space on the right. That is the meeting spot for this hike, which Google maps calls 6003 Montemalaga Drive. The trailhead is next to the house at 6017 Montemalga.

BRING ALL THE USUAL STUFF, I'M NOT YOUR MOM....

Bring clothing (sorry, n/ude hikes are a different Meetup group), lots of water, a hat, comfy shoes, snacks, all your troubles..., guitar, camera, etc
