Charlotte

[EXHIBITION + OPENING RECEPTION] Faces, Before Forgetting by Naseer Turkmani

[EXHIBITION + OPENING RECEPTION] Faces, Before Forgetting by Naseer Turkmani

From The Dissident Club
4.4

🎞 Exhibition + Opening Reception — “Faces, Before Forgetting ” 📅 Wednesday 18th Febuary — 7PM-9PM Born in 1990 in Afghanistan and now based in Marseille, Naseer Turkmani is a self-taught photographer, filmmaker, and visual artist whose work explores questions of politics, personal memory, and collective identity. Having trained through workshops in photojournalism, documentary, and contemporary photography in Kabul, his work has been exhibited both in Afghanistan and internationally — from New York, Switzerland, the UAE, and Tehran to Paris, London, and the Aubrac Photo Festival 2022. He has also held two solo exhibitions at the French Cultural Institute in Kabul and taught at Kabul University’s Faculty of Fine Arts. Join us on Wednesday, February 18th at the Dissident Club for a special presentation of Faces, Before Forgetting — an evocative exhibition of Naseer Turkmani’s photography. Experience an evening of intimate, powerful, and deeply human visual storytelling that lingers long after the images fade. To accompany the exhibition, here is a poetic reflection that captures its essence: Snow quiets the city, but faces continue to carry history. A child at play, a passerby moving on, a gaze that pauses. All stand against forgetting, without claim or pretense. An identity fragmented, reassembled, unfinished. These works neither reconstruct the past nor predict the future. They preserve only a moment, before faces, and what they represent, fade into forgetting. 🗓️ WEDNESDAY 18 FEBUARY 7PM-9PM 📍 58 rue Richer 75009 Paris 🔴 entrée gratuite + consommation obligatoire 🌐 visitez www.thedissidentclub.org pour plus d'informations

Les tableaux du scandale • Avec Frédéric Pennel

Les tableaux du scandale • Avec Frédéric Pennel

From Conscious Paris — Arts & dialogues
4.8
