Digital Creator Hack Night!

Digital Creator Hack Night!

Fri, Apr 24, 1:00 AM
From The Museum of Art and Digital Entertainment
4.5

Create digital art with like minded folks! While the primary focus will be on the use of shaders to create pictures with math, we invite folks who want to work on their games, 3D art work, and/or 2D digital art work. If you're not in the mood to work digitally, bring a sketchpad! We just want folks to express themselves in a digital space and find folks who love this medium as much as we do. And if you don't have anything specific to work with, we can find you some paper, a laptop hanging around, or something else and work with you to create some sort of sketch. Generally, attendees should be relatively self-directed, and ages 16+.

Create AI Art With Friends

Create AI Art With Friends

Sat, May 2, 9:00 PM
From Artists: Mission Creatives Meetup
4.9

AI is the newest medium in the artist’s toolkit. Join us every Saturday morning in the Mission to explore the weird, wonderful, and avant-garde world of AI-generated art. This is a space for creators who want to go beyond the "default" look. Whether you’re into digital painting, generative video, or experimental photography, we gather to push the limits of latent space. We embrace the "vibe coding" era of creativity—where the boundary between the prompt and the canvas disappears. **What we do:** * **10:00 AM - 11:45 AM:** Creative Session. Get into the flow. Work on your latest series, train a LoRA, experiment with ComfyUI workflows, or explore new styles in DALL-E and Midjourney. * **11:45 AM - 12:00 PM:** Artist Critique & Exchange. A low-pressure "gallery walk" where we show our progress, discuss the prompt engineering behind the art, and share the latest tools for upscaling and animation. **Who should join:** Digital artists, traditional painters curious about tech, prompt engineers, and anyone who sees AI as a partner in the creative process. If you think the future is a canvas, you’re in the right place. **What to bring:** * A laptop or iPad. * Your favorite AI generation platform. * A "weird" project. (Traditional mediums are more than welcome!) Kindly patronize the coffee shop! See you there!

*free* Gelli Printing Class in person and Zoom

*free* Gelli Printing Class in person and Zoom

Sun, Apr 26, 8:00 PM
From SoulFullPlay Mixed Media Arts
4.9

This fun, easy technique is kind of hard to stop and makes wonderful elements for your art journals, greeting cards, mixed media projects and more. Even if you don’t play along I think you’ll enjoy watching. 1-3pm PST, free as a part of herchurch's Tactile Spirituality Initiative. If you'd like to Gelli Print with us from home, you'll want a gelli plate and supplies of your own. I like www.gelliarts.com, but you can search “gel printing plate” and find similar products from other retailers and even instructions to “cook” your own. You also need a brayer, acrylic paints, and lots of paper. Stencils also make it awesome, but you can make marks with lots of household things like rubber bands, toilet paper rolls, q tips, hand cut paper stencils, just about anything that will leave a mark but not damage your plate. (leaves, feathers, textured papers . . . check your back yard and your recycling bin!) If you join us in person, we have lots of supplies to share in the Art Womb. Zoom link is below. If you need to reach me at the last minute, *please send a text* as I likely won't see emails or Meetup messages. 415 425 9070. Zoom link: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/3795824945 herchurch is located at 678 Portola Dr San Francisco, 94127. There is plentiful, free parking. Please be vaccinated or masked when joining us in person, and please stay home if you have symptoms of illness. This class is free courtesy of herchurch's tactile spirituality initiative.
