Live poker tournament game at the Long Room Bar, Tooting Broadway, SW17 9NH **Every Thursday 7 pm - 11.30 pm** This game is for anyone wanting to learn how to play friendly and inexpensive tournament poker in a relaxed atmosphere. We're a bunch of friendly recreational players and are always happy to explain the rules, answer questions and we just want the game to be fun for everyone. Kennington Book Club Pick #1: The Merge Thank you to all of you who have joined the group. For our very first read together, I thought we could dive into The Merge by Grace Walker. This book is set in a near-future world facing overpopulation and climate collapse. To address this society introduces a radical solution: merging two people into a single consciousness. But what begins as a bold fix quickly raises deeper questions about identity, love, and what it really means to be human. Looking forward to hearing everyone’s thoughts - I’m hoping this one should give us a lot to talk about. If it helps you to have something to focus on while you’re reading, you could think about: - Where do you draw the line between sacrifice and loss of self? - Who should have the power to make decisions like this? - Is this a solution… or a warning? Social bridge in north London

Join us for social bridge without the formality of a tournament. All abilities welcome. Advice on bidding and play is available to those who are still learning the basics. We are privileged to be hosted by Asia and her team at the Cool Carrot, whose curries, cakes, beers and wines I can vouch for! There is a £1 fee to cover Meetup fees (or £5 per year) and there is no table fee provided you spend at least £10 in the café (otherwise £5).

Tuesday club night session - Advanced players only

Hi all (Please note the session price is now £12) We are a small, competitive but friendly badminton club who are playing at Swiss cottage leisure centre in London on Tuesdays. We are opening up a few spots each week for advanced players only to attend our members club night session with a view hopefully to joining the club permanently. Any known members of other clubs that have no intention of joining the club who sign up will not be allowed to attend. We play on 4 courts at Swiss cottage leisure centre from 8-10pm. We play with feather shuttles and charge £12 per session. Fun and experienced doubles badminton! We play over four courts each Tuesday, bring your own kit and racket. £9.00per person for 2hrs; quarterly payments should be discussed with Eli is desired. if less than 24 notice is given for a cancellation then the session fee will have to be paid. we need this so other people on the waiting list can attend. We play with plastic shuttle on most courts; feather available as advance request. Important note: Our club is paid for by individuals; as such your attendance and payment is required when making a commitments to play - as a matter of respect, please ensure that you consider this when saying you will attend. All levels are welcome. We pride our sessions that everyone plays with everyone to keep it a friendly and fun session. We also understand that there is a need for being competitive and we welcome that also. Payment: £13 per session. We are accepting bank transfers rather than cash payments.
