Each month we explore a play. We'll rotate between something old and something new, from Aphra Behn to Winsome Pinnock, from Shakespeare to Luke Norris. For less than the price of a glass of wine, you’ll spend an evening with like-minded theatre lovers and get into the nitty-gritty of what makes a play great. ***How it works:*** Each session is hosted by actor and playwright Alfrun Rose. You'll receive the choice of play about a month in advance. At the meeting, we might read a few scenes aloud and chat about everything from big themes and plot twists to fatal flaws and dialogue choices. First play will be Ibsen's *Hedda Gabler*; you will need to source your own. Tuesday club night session - Advanced players only

Hi all (Please note the session price is now £12) We are a small, competitive but friendly badminton club who are playing at Swiss cottage leisure centre in London on Tuesdays. We are opening up a few spots each week for advanced players only to attend our members club night session with a view hopefully to joining the club permanently. Any known members of other clubs that have no intention of joining the club who sign up will not be allowed to attend. We play on 4 courts at Swiss cottage leisure centre from 8-10pm. We play with feather shuttles and charge £12 per session. The Book Club in London

This isn’t a typical book club. It’s a space to explore real questions about life, meaning, and the Bible—together. Bring your questions, your doubts, or just your curiosity. You don’t need to believe anything to belong here. Make up your own mind. Most people have thoughts about the Bible… But rarely get the chance to explore it honestly. Here, you can ask: • What do I actually believe? • Does any of this still matter today? • Is there more to this than I thought? What to expect: We meet for two hours at a time. Our reading list includes books from the Bible — as well as some of the books that didn’t make it into most Bibles. The Bible has shaped culture, law, art and ethics for centuries, yet many people are personally unfamiliar with it. Each evening is structured but informal. The group chooses the book or books to read, and discussion takes place in small groups. No lectures. No pressure. No need to prepare anything in advance. The aim is thoughtful, respectful conversation. Plenty of people feel they know quite a bit about the Bible, yet struggle to read it. This is a space to explore it thoughtfully and honestly — in good company. This club is for: • Curious thinkers • Skeptics • Christians with questions • Anyone who wants to make up their own mind Our only rules? Be curious. Be honest. Be kind. And enjoy yourself. **Tuesday Badminton Session – 8:00–10:00pm at Queen Mother Sports Centre, Victoria** **Venue** Queen Mother Sports Centre (Everyone Active), 223 Vauxhall Bridge Road, SW1V 1EL It’s a 5‑minute walk from Victoria Station. Full sports hall with 5 courts. **RSVP Required** Everyone attending must RSVP in advance. Members can also confirm by email or text. **Session Fee** £14 per session Includes premium feather shuttles. **Payment** Please pay at the start of the session. First‑timers must pay in cash due to previous no‑shows and non‑payment. All first‑timers must also register on our in‑house MatchMaking app before joining the courts. If you haven’t registered, you won’t be able to start playing. Mobile reception in the hall is poor, so if you are set up to pay by bank transfer, you must pay in advance before attending. If we have to chase payment afterwards, the fee becomes £20. Bank transfer is available from your second session onwards once it’s set up and we confirm your playing level fits the standard of the club. Please only attend if you have RSVP’d on Meetup and are able to pay the session fee on arrival or have already transferred in advance. If payment still isn’t settled, you will be removed from the group and blocked from attending future sessions. The same applies to no‑shows who do not release their RSVP within the cancellation policy. **Membership Options** We are a membership‑based club and offer several membership options if a place is offered to you and your playing level fits the club. As a guide, Tuesday sessions are for intermediate to strong intermediate ladies, and strong intermediate to advanced men. The Sobell Badminton club Friday sessions start from 7.30pm, finishing at 10pm. All bookings & payments via the better UK app ( OR this link: https://www.better.org.uk/leisure-centre/london/islington/sobell/sobell-badminton) when possible and IN ADVANCE. £7.30 for members and £11.15 for non-members. Once you have installed the Better App (choose Sobell as the default sport centre) and from the homepage : go via “Book activities”--> "Adult group sessions"--> choose the required date (of a Friday or Sunday session) to book a place!
