Tooting Poker Collective poker for new and recreational players

Live poker tournament game at the Long Room Bar, Tooting Broadway, SW17 9NH **Every Thursday 7 pm - 11.30 pm** This game is for anyone wanting to learn how to play friendly and inexpensive tournament poker in a relaxed atmosphere. We're a bunch of friendly recreational players and are always happy to explain the rules, answer questions and we just want the game to be fun for everyone. **Meet at London Bridge Station and travel together to Brighton for a relaxed day by the sea. The plan is to spend the day at the beach, swimming, walking along the coast, and grabbing food or drinks in a casual, social group.** **There’s no fixed schedule — just a flexible, easy-going day where people can join in and enjoy the sunshine.** **Please bring anything you’d normally take for a beach day such as shorts, swimwear, sunscreen, towel, water, snacks, and anything for beach games (like a ball), plus comfortable clothes and travel essentials.** **We’ll meet at London Bridge and make sure everyone can easily find the group before setting off together.**

Social bridge south of the river

Join us for social bridge without the formality of a tournament. Advice on bidding and play Is available to those who are still learning the basics. I sometimes bring along set boards for improvers to work through if they so desire. The Royal Oak is one of London’s most traditional pubs, and serves an excellent range of beers and drinks. They Also Serve Sunday roast til about 7pm. There is a £1 fee (or £5 per year) to cover Meetup fees and we do ask that you spend at least £5 at the bar.

Wednesday Evening Social Bridge in Clapham

Join us for social bridge at Nightingale Place, Clapham SW4 9AH. All standards welcome including experienced players but also new players, returners and refreshers. Very welcoming group. Single players will be paired up. Bar available for drinks, snacks, etc. Most weeks we just form tables and deal hands. Once in a while we play novice duplicate. A tutor is available every week to circulate and answer questions and give support as requested. There is a WhatsApp group that helps keep players in touch. House standard system is Acol with a weak NT, but other systems are welcome too.

We play over four courts each Tuesday, bring your own kit and racket. £9.00per person for 2hrs; quarterly payments should be discussed with Eli is desired. if less than 24 notice is given for a cancellation then the session fee will have to be paid. we need this so other people on the waiting list can attend. We play with plastic shuttle on most courts; feather available as advance request. Important note: Our club is paid for by individuals; as such your attendance and payment is required when making a commitments to play - as a matter of respect, please ensure that you consider this when saying you will attend. We are opening up a few spots each week for advanced players only to attend our members club night session with a view hopefully to joining the club permanently. We play with feather shuttles and charge £12 per session. First timers - please kindly read below about bringing your board, meetup fee, purchasing drinks and food, etiquette etc Please RSVP - CSC requires names of guests Intro Dear Backgammon Lovers, We had a decent turnout on Sunday with 14 backgammoners showing up at Waterloo Station. We'll be returning next to the Civil Service Club that is moments from Trafalgar Square. Social & Fun Backgammon at the CSC Whether you're a seasoned backgammoner or a newbie looking to learn this fabulous game that is thousands of years old, our social event is open to all. This is the perfect opportunity to sharpen your game, and share a laugh (or a lucky double six!) over backgammon. Add in a drink, maybe dinner, and you’ve got the recipe for a fun and relaxed evening. Venue Food and Drink Just a little reminder that when we use the Civil Service Club, we’re asked to buy at least one drink whilst we’re there, and hopefully food too. The Club has a nice range of food and snacks on offer, all at good prices, so it’s a great chance to relax and make the most of the day. About our backgammon social group Our group has been running for nearly 11 years since June 2015 and we have held nearly 500 official backgammon meetings - along with a further 300 off-grid (non meetups) since then. We are the largest backgammon group in the UK with nearly 2,500 backgammoners as members. What makes our group special are its members and the warmth, humour and friendliness whilst playing this splendid social game over a few drinks... usually fortnightly, and on a Sunday. We have about 30-odd regular members who play socially and we very much welcome new players too - so do come along. Dinner Time and Drinks and Food In between the rounds of backgammon many of us sit for a meal around 6pm, but you can order drinks and food whenever you like. RSVP Please RSVP asap - Often I need to provide the Club with an indication of numbers. Bring your own Backgammon Board - no problem if initially you don't have one. Love seeing the different styles and size of boards - my boards have somehow gotten larger over the years. Please bring your own backgammon board and should you not have one please let us know in advance via the Meetup message board so that others can make the effort to bring theirs. Meetup Fee I will ask for £4 as the meetup fees etc have increased substantially over the past year or two. This also assists paying other admin costs including Club membership and tips. Other Games We sometimes play other games in the evening such as Rummikub, Yahtzee, and a type of Gin Rummy... so ask and watch this space! London Scuba Diving Group - Monthly Mingle Session

We are based at the Bridge Tap at London Bridge. Come and join us for our monthly social. It is important to note that the group will have an area reserved. We will reserve a corner sofa area so should be easy to locate on the night. We will also have meetup signs as well. The staff will also be aware of our group so by all means ask on arrival. You will be able to spot us as you walk into the pub. As a result of the group having increased in size and the large number of divers attending the social evenings we have changed venue so we have more space and so that we can have an outside area during the warmer summer months. Come and join us!!! As the pub is a Stonegate pub they have a great variety of ales and all drinks. They have the fantastic ale library which has over 20+ ales and a whisky showcase. They also have a great variety of good quality wines and food as well. It is well known for a large selection of craft beers. We will be located in one of the corner sofas which has enough room for 20+ and provides the group with a much better location. This is a monthly meetup to enable all members to have an input on future meetups and enable everyone to meet new members and encourage introductions. We now have at least 20 divers at every monthly social. Why not come down and join us for a drink and meet the group. It will also be a chance to provide an outline of future trips and diving destinations and provide further information on existing scheduled diving trips if anyone has any questions. This meet up might be an opportunity to meet members who have booked on the same trip as you in advance of your departure. We look forward to seeing you all.
