A new non-fiction book club in Surbiton! Hosted at my flat on Grove Road, this is a monthly opportunity to discuss and a non-fiction work in a stimulating atmosphere (additional stimulus provided by coffee!). At this first meeting I’ll invite you to share something you’ve read and think will be interesting to discuss. At subsequent events we may have set books or a combination of set and free discussion. Feel free to bring book(s) to discuss or swap, we usually have more books than people in the end, so feel free to pop along just to have a chat as well. Aiming for every 4 weeks book swap meetup. Note: The event is free to attend, so the only cost for you will only be buying a drink at the location, so coffee/tea/beer etc.

Fighting the good fight - Marvel Champions!

Heroes! We will be meeting up to play Marvel Champions .We will meet inside The Ludoquist from 6.30pm, and split into groups of 4 or less before choosing villains to defeat inside. The session will be charged by The Ludoquist at £5 (payable on the night). We will have pre-built decks available to play on the night for beginners, but we otherwise advise bringing along a couple of decks to arrange groups on the night (and maybe one or two substitute allies). *"Youth is the gift of nature, but age is a work of art."* (Stanislaw Jerzy Lec) **Join us at the Wellcome Collection for The Coming of Age exhibition.** ‘The Coming of Age’ explores experiences and perceptions of ageing, from adolescence to later life, and asks how societies can adapt for us all to age better. Across the globe, people are living longer. One in ten children in the UK are expected to live beyond the age of 100. But who gets to live longer and ‘age well’? This exhibition explores how experiences of age are shaped by our environment, culture and society. ‘The Coming of Age’ features 150 artworks and objects, from historical artefacts to works by contemporary artists including John Coplans, Serena Korda, Suzanne Lacy, Anna Maria Maiolino, Rory Pilgrim, Paula Rego and more. LCC Bookfair Crawl & Social at London Anarchist Bookfair

From it's humble beginnings in the 1980s with just a handful of publishers and stalls, the London Anarchist Bookfair has swelled to become one of the major yearly events on the radical calendar supporting struggles against capitalism, patriarchy, ecological destruction and colonialism. This year, the London Anarchist Bookfair returns to the East End on Saturday 26th September, bringing together radical booksellers, activists, artists and communities for a day of discussion, learning, exchange and collective organising. Taking place at Rich Mix and other nearby venues, including Oxford House, the bookfair will feature a wide-ranging programme of radical book stalls, workshops, readings, discussions, campaigns and skill-shares. If you're new to the Bookfair or might just appreciate some company during the event join us for our bookfair crawl! **Event Plan** We will meet at Shoreditch High Street station at around 12 noon and head together to the bookfair at 12:30. We’ll stay together as a group while visiting the fair, but if you’d like to check out a specific event or stand, feel free to do so and rejoin us later: we’ll be sharing our location throughout the event. After the main event, we'll head to a pub to socialise! Please note, we are committed to making every one of our events welcoming and safe for everybody. AnimanJapan Anime & Manga Club!

If you love anime & manga then please join us for our weekly meetups, where we basically just sit, chat and read anime & manga! We usually sit in the back of the pub. If the weather is nice we may sit outside at the back of the pub, or even outside on the downstairs floor. In this meetup, you can BYOM (bring your own manga) or read one from the selection we will bring. See this as an opportunity to discover, recommend or simply enjoy Japanese comics & anime with like-minded people! Note: This is not a book club. Also, the TCR bar is kind enough to allow us to use their space to host this meetup, and has asked if possible for attendees to support the venue by purchasing a drink or food while you're there. Please don't bring your own food or drink to consume at the venue, as the venue does not allow this!

Art Club

Artists of all ability are welcome at the All Good Bookshop Art Club. Each session has a theme to inspire creativity but there is no set image to create, allowing attendees to explore their own skills and interests. A range of art materials are supplied, but bringing your own supplies is also welcomed. Suggested donation £5
