Our aim is to provide a supportive community for speculative fiction (science fiction, fantasy and horror etc) writers at all levels, offering a platform for networking, dedicated writing time, craft discussions, and publication tips. Parking is also available at Chatswood Chase adjacent to The Concourse on the corner of Archer St and Victoria Ave. The first 3 hours parking are free. **Cycle**: Bicycle parking is available at library entrance. **Accessibility** For participants requiring stair-free access, this is available through the Ferguson Lane entrance through the parking garage. Ride shares or taxis should be directed to drop off at that location. If further assistance is needed please let the Meetup coordinators know in advance and we will do our best to assist. Please be advised that access from Victoria Ave does consist of a significant flight of steps up into the Concourse area. **Our meeting room** We are in the **Creator Space**, straight down the main aisle from the front desk, though the sign may be obscured by books. If you are unable to locate the Creator Space, ask the staff at the front desk for its location; they are expecting us. ADVANCED 3.5+ and 4.0+ PLAYERS - INDOOR PICKLEBALL Saturday Mornings 8:00 - 11:00am. Booking via Meetup is essential. All players must be members of PCYC. READ THE INFORMATION BELOW CAREFULLY PRIOR TO SIGN UP Welcome to PCYC Hornsby advanced pickleball! We have two groups (of up to 10 players in each group) playing simultaneously on 4 courts. Players selected to play will be allocated to a group based on the criteria listed below. 4.0+ group To play in this group you will: 1. Have a current Pickleball Brackets rating of 4.0+ OR 2. Have a current Pickleball Brackets rating of close to 4.0 (3.9+) with recent success in tournaments in 4.0 events AND 3. Regularly play in tournaments entering in 4.0 events Please direct all questions related to the 4.0+ group to Mandy – 0430 508 959. 3.5 – 3.99 group To play in this group you will: 1. Have a current Pickleball Brackets rating of 3.5 – 3.99 or equivalent skill level accepted by the organisers of this session – contact Matt before you book if your rating is below 3.5, or if you don’t have a rating in Pickleball Brackets; AND 2. The organisers make decisions on who will play each week based on the criteria stated above and the playing standard of each player. Selections will be finalised by 6pm Friday, for Saturday play. Check meetup on Friday evening to confirm that you are playing. Our sessions are highly organised, competitive but friendly using a round robin format. We usually play 8 games up to 11 points. Our players make generous line calls, support their partners and respect their opponents. We discourage unsolicited coaching and criticisms of how other people play. In summary, we are all very nice! Please be on time and let us know if you cannot play for the full session. If you book in to play then withdraw, please do this by noon on Friday latest to allow organisers to arrange for others to play. Players who cancel after noon on Friday, or do not cancel and do not turn up, may have their future bookings deleted. This Advanced Play session is for players who play tournaments at 4.0 level and above . To maintain the high standard of play therein, the participant is required to have DUPR rating of 4+ with minimum reliability of 80%. On an exception basis a participant with a DUPR rating of less than 4 may be admitted but you will have been assessed by the advanced session grading commitee that your level is suitable to join this session. If you have previously played in advanced sessions with other club, it is not a guarantee you will be admitted here, subject to the above criteria .
