New people are always welcome. **How often do we have events? Weekly!** Join us at a different bar/pub each week to meet new people and see the familiar faces of the regular members. Tuesday Night Ice Skating + Casual Dinner in Docklands

Tuesday Night Ice Skating + Casual Dinner in Docklands

Tue, May 19, 8:30 AM
From Melbourne Social
5.0

Let’s meet in Docklands for a casual Tuesday evening: we’ll start with dinner at Gozleme Kebab, then walk over to O’Brien Icehouse for public ice skating. This is mainly a relaxed social meetup, not a serious skating session. You’re welcome whether you’re a complete beginner, a bit rusty, or already comfortable on the ice. We can take it easy, skate at our own pace, and have breaks whenever needed. If you don’t want to skate the whole time, that’s completely fine too. You can take breaks, leave early, or just come for dinner and decide from there. Solo attendees are very welcome. **Who this is for** This meetup is good for people who want a fun, casual weekday activity with a bit of movement and social time. Beginners are welcome, but please only join the skating part if you’re comfortable with the normal risks of ice skating. **Links** Meetup start point: [https://maps.app.goo.gl/nG1Qj6hjRV9hvhLg6](https://maps.app.goo.gl/nG1Qj6hjRV9hvhLg6) O’Brien Icehouse: [https://obrienicehouse.com.au/](https://obrienicehouse.com.au/) Pricing / tickets: [https://obrienicehouse.com.au/pricing/](https://obrienicehouse.com.au/pricing/) FAQ: [https://obrienicehouse.com.au/faqs/](https://obrienicehouse.com.au/faqs/) Dinner location: [https://maps.app.goo.gl/nG1Qj6hjRV9hvhLg6](https://maps.app.goo.gl/nG1Qj6hjRV9hvhLg6) **Timeline** * 6:30pm – Meet outside Gozleme Kebab Docklands * 6:30pm – 7:25pm – Casual dinner / food / chat * 7:30pm – Head to O’Brien Icehouse * Around 7:45pm – Get tickets / skates / get ready * 8:00pm – 9:30pm – Ice skating * 9:30pm – Meetup officially ends * Until 10:00pm – Optional extra skating, until the venue/session is still open **Tickets / cost** Please buy your own skating ticket. O’Brien Icehouse currently lists Tuesday public skating as Tight Tuesday, with adult online tickets from $18.50 including skate hire, but please check the pricing page before booking because prices/session availability can change. Tight Tuesday discounts are not valid during school holidays, public holidays, or pupil-free days. Online booking is recommended, and O’Brien Icehouse says it is a cashless venue. Meetup RSVP does not include entry or a skating ticket. **Transport** O’Brien Icehouse is in Docklands and is accessible by tram. The venue notes that Tram 70, Tram 86, and the City Circle tram can take you to the Waterfront City / District Docklands area, with the Icehouse about a short walk from there. Please check your own public transport times on the day, especially for getting home after the meetup. **Bring** * Your own ticket / booking confirmation * Warm clothes * Thick socks * Gloves if you have them * Water bottle * Card / phone payment O’Brien Icehouse says the air temperature is around 16°C and recommends warm, comfortable clothing. **Expect** * Difficulty: Beginner-friendly, but ice skating still involves slipping/falling risk * Pace: Casual and self-paced * Fitness: Light to moderate * Vibe: Relaxed, friendly, social, low-pressure * Group style: We’ll meet first, eat together, then head to the rink as a group * Can leave early: Yes, no problem **Important notes** * Everyone is responsible for their own ticket, belongings, skating ability, and safety. * Ice skating has a risk of falls or injury, so please skate within your comfort level. * Beginners are welcome, but take it slowly and use breaks when needed. * Please update your RSVP if you can no longer attend so numbers stay clear. * This is a social meetup, not a lesson or formal group booking.
