Our regular boardgames spot is honoring a special cause for **R U Ok 2 Play?** Day, raising awareness for mental health and suicide prevention. The format is the same casual gaming with, as always, an emphasis on connecting. From the organisers: Not only are tabletop games fun, they are a great way to combat social isolation and improve mental health. Sitting around a table with a shared activity can create a great sense of togetherness and games provide an amazing buffer if you find socialising difficult. Even though interaction is encouraged by the nature of a game, standard pleasantries and the need for small talk is eliminated and connecting with others becomes easier. Immersing yourself in a game is also a great way to get your brain thinking about things other than the usual ups and downs of life. R U OK 2 Play? events will be running across the country for which Sidequest is pleased to support. No donations are required. Standard entry fee applies. Come along and get connected. If you are having a mental health crisis, please call Lifeline on: 13 11 14 24/7 or speak to your GP Join the Side Quest at Marche Board Game Cafe! They give our group a sweet $6 deal on Wednesdays for 3 hours of play time. Because it's a small space we limit numbers to keep things from getting too crazy so RSVP now **THE HIGHLIGHTS** * Games start at 6:30pm * SideQuest Special: $6 for 3 hours of play time (mention us at the door) * Order snacks, drinks, and comfort food if you get hungry **IF YOU CAN'T MAKE IT** If you RSVP but can't make it or change your mind, no problem! Just make sure to pull out of the event on Meetup so someone else can take your place! Repeat no-shows may be removed from the group out of respect for everyone's time **WE HAVE A DISCORD SERVER!** For anyone who wants to stay connected, play, and chat after hours. Invites will be made available after the event for everyone who attended **FOR NEWBIES** If this is your first time here, make sure to read the group description. Boardgames are social so stress free. Also, check this page for updates before attending the event. Finally, Side Quest is for the 18-25 crowd. To keep everyone safe, we may ask to verify your ID
