In an unhurried conversation, there is time to think differently and connect with people in a refreshing way. Unhurried isn't always slow. It offers a pace where people find it easy to join in and not feel crowded out. And listening can be as satisfying as talking. The Case Against the Sexual Revolution by Louise Perry

**Meeting at the usual place (upstairs) at The Shakespeare Hotel, 200 Devonshire Street, Surry Hills, on Thursday 24 September 2026, we will be discussing The Case Against the Sexual Revolution by Louise Perry.** Louise Perry argues from an alternative feminist perspective. She says that that the sexual revolution (with its emphasis on casual sex, pornography, and the idea that 'consent is the only rule') has not liberated women. The main beneficiaries have been a small group of high-status men, while it disadvantages ordinary men and women, and particularly those who are young, poor, or vulnerable. Her work rests on many of the insights of evolutionary biology and her writing it was prompted by her working in a rape crisis centre. She argues that many 'traditional practices' such as monogamous marriage, restraint and chivalry need to be revived for the benefit of all. Louise Perry is a British journalist, author, and broadcaster and has written for the right-wing *Daily Mail* and the left-wing *New Statesman.* The format of the meeting is that we talk about the book in a focused way for about 50 mins. Opinions for and against the arguments in the book are encouraged. After the meeting formally closes, almost everyone stays back to talk more about the book or anything else. Many of us start arriving just after 6.00pm, so feel free to arrive early for food or drinks. Copies of the book are available from the usual places. WE HIKE... to the YACHT PARTY 2026! REGISTER INTEREST!

**Howdy hikers. A few ladies gave me a nudge last weekend. At last nite’s drinks event? A few more. So? It’s time to Hike… to the Yacht Party 2026. Please note - this event is not next Friday - just giving you all a week to register your interest to attend so I can yacht shop! We Hike to the Yacht Party 2026 will be on 17th October 2026!!!** Click "Attend" if you’re keen - not "Hmmm maybe" but rather "Fahk yes. I'm in there!" I’ll need to start hunting for the right yacht size. Last year we did 46 hikers, and the day went really well like this: a) We hiked. Optional. b) We had an hour to change clothes. Grab some BYO. And lube up at bar in the CBD. c) Yacht departure by Sydney Opera House. 3hrs. d) Yacht drop off at King St Wharf. e) Finished with our own private section at MJ’s local bar (we’d switch it up this year - we had drinks at Helm Bar last nite, and their private area was really nice, and they do duelling pianos on Saturday nites - fun, fun, fun). October is a great time, as we change the clocks then, and the prices are still lower season before they go way up in November. Who’s keen?
