Back in Person - Prompting, Instructions and the Future of Large Language Models

Details
We are BACK at GOOGLE!! This event will be held in the Google DevSpace and to celebrate we will have some swag to give away and pizza for attendees.
This month's event is covering some of the recent advances in the field of Large Language Models (LLMs)
Talks:
Sam Witteveen : Instructive Prompting -
Prompting LLMs has opened up a whole new world in NLP. In this talk Sam will go through some of the history of prompting in LLMs and how instructive prompting is being used in some of the latest models such as FLAN and BloomZ to massively improve results and how you can use them in your own project.
Martin Andrews : Tomorrow's World -
Following on the current advances that Sam will talk about, Martin will highlight new research directions that may point a way forwards (other than "just train bigger models for longer"). This will include : Having models learn from human preference; create their own data; and create their own prompts.
Talks will start at 7:00pm and end at around 8:30pm, at which point people normally come up to the front for a bit of a chat with each other, and the speakers.
***
As always, we're actively looking for more speakers - both '30 minutes long-form', and lightning talks. For the lightning talks, we welcome folks to come and talk about something cool they've done with TensorFlow, PyTorch, JAX and/or Deep Learning for 5-10mins (so, if you have slides, then #max=10). We believe that the key ingredient for the success of a Lightning Talk is simply the cool/interesting factor. It doesn't matter whether you're an expert or and enthusiastic beginner: Given the responses we have had, we're sure there are lots of people who would be interested to hear what you've been playing with.
