Midwest Handpan Camp Out
Saturday, May 16 at 9:00 am to Sunday, May 17, 2026 at 4:00pm.
Intersection of College Ave and S Mooreland Rd, New Berlin, WI.

Facilities: We will be camping on our handpan host's forest land. We will have outdoor toilets and potable water. No electricity. No showers. Campfires plenty. Bring a tent and all you need to be comfortable, handpan chairs, comfy chairs, folding tables, and shade tents. And handpans. LOTS of handpans. And other instruments as well.

We will provide Sunday morning breakfast. All other meals on your own. There are lots of places to go eat or to get carry out in the area. You can cook your own food over a camping stove or over a cooking fire.

Fee is $111 to cover the cost of providing water, toilets and trash disposal. Please RSVP before you arrive.

Date Night with a Handpan!
Have you ever wanted to try playing the handpan? Have you recently bought a handpan and want some in-person lessons to get started?
In this 2.5 hour session, instructor Addi Faerber will provide an introduction to playing the handpan, starting with basic striking techniques, learn The First Song Everyone Learns on Handpan, and some practice exercises to help you to build your muscle memory.

If you do not have a handpan, no worries! We will have extra instruments for people to play.

Course fee is $25. This covers rental of the space, insurance on the borrowed handpans and instructor fee.

The Madison Handpan Meetup Group will host an open handpan jam from 10:00-10:40am to celebrate Make Music Madison Day! Please bring a handpan in a D scale like a D Kurd, D Celtic, D Minor. A scales will also likely play well too! We will have some extra D scale instruments.
