About us
This is a group for everyone in the Madison area who loves, or is interested in, the wide world of opera. Whether you are a seasoned "cognoscente" or have never been to the opera before, welcome! In addition to outings to see the Madison Opera at Overture Hall, we'll also organize meetups at members' homes and other venues to watch and listen to the classics on DVD.

"Eugene Onegin" live from the Met!
Marcus Point Cinema, 7825 Big Sky Drive, Madison, WI, USHi again, everyone! After a quiet March we are back again with another new event hot on the heels of "Cosi Fan Tutte", this one also a new format for our group: The NY Metropolitan's "Live in HD"!
The Met regularly broadcasts select performances live to participating movie theaters across the country. This has a few benefits, including a more relaxed atmosphere and very affordable tickets to see and hear one of the most famous companies in the world.
Saturday, May 2nd at 12 noon CST, we'll be heading to Marcus Point theater on the West side of Madison for Tchaikovsky's "Eugene Onegin", a tragedy based on Alexandr Pushkin's famous novel in verse. The bored, cynical young aristocrat Onegin ruins his own life by rejecting the love of a good woman, Tatiyana, and fighting a duel with his friend, Lensky. This new production has received rave reviews especially for the performance of soprano Asmik Grigorian as the heroine Tatiyana.
As always, if you are new to the group and want to be added to our WhatsApp group for easier communication, just send one of the organizers a message.
If you want to purchase your own seats, you can do so here. Or, if you are sure you will be attending and you want to sit with other guests, RSVP and message me to confirm how many seats you want, and I will order them for you.
We hope to see you all next Saturday, May 2nd!
