Volunteer at the Art Fair on the Square - Registration Required MMOCA Link

Marie Ackley who heads the volunteer part of Art Fair on the Square had reached out in regards to a need for volunteers so I thought I'd sign up for a shift(description as below) and post a meetup if others are interested. Please note that as per title signing up on the meetup doesn't mean that you signed up for shift on MMOCA's site, link for that is here.

The shift I signed up for I am the first of six possible volunteers for so there is room for people to sign up and close out that particular shift. There are also several other artist relief and beverage handler roles remaining at time slot if that shift closes(my guess is around 60 as of 7/6). I will post a quick event message to meetup/Gatherist if people are interested in doing so beforehand and we can meetup after at one of the beverage stations(volunteering does get you one drink ticket and invitation to volunteers part as per description).

This will be cross-posted between the Volunteers meetup group, Madison Social Club meetup group and Madison Social Club on Gatherist(meetup alternative) so there might be people that signed up via different sources.

Below is the description for the shift I signed up for and email I received with more information about signing up. I did have some issues with signing up on opportunity calendar beyond the first 5 shifts when sorting by month on calendar but eventually was able to do so when filtering by week instead.

As an Artist Relief Volunteer, you’ll help keep the creativity flowing by offering short breaks to artists exhibiting at the Art Fair. Volunteers will check in with booth artists, provide brief coverage while they step away, and help ensure they have water, snacks, or assistance if needed. This is a vital and appreciated role that supports artists’ comfort and well-being throughout the event.
All volunteers will receive a coupon for the Beer and Wine Garden and an invitation to the Volunteer Appreciation Party in September.

Our records show that you are interested in volunteering for Art Fair on the Square, but have not selected a shift to volunteer for. If you are still interested, you can sign up for shifts by going to your MyImpact page, go to Opportunities at the top and you can either look at the Calendar format or List format (List format is easier to navigate). With such a large and significant event with an expected attendance of nearly 200,000 visitors, we need your help to ensure we provide a memorable experience for everyone.

If you prefer to be given a shift, or are experiencing issues with signing up, please let us know and we will ensure you volunteer where you are most needed.

Once you sign up for a shift, you are automatically confirmed, so please ensure you note your shifts. To make tracking your shifts even easier, you can download the MyImpact app by Better Impact Inc. on your app store. The app will give you access to scheduling opportunities on the go and keep track of your shifts, allowing you the option to receive schedule reminders if you wish.
