Origins of Life, Artificial Life, and Astrobiology (OoLALA)

Details

A presentation by Lena N. Vincent, a grad student at the Wisconsin Institute for Discovery, on how we got here, whether there are silicon-based descendants in humanity's future, and how likely it is that something like us exists elsewhere in the Universe.

UW-Madison's OoLALA was created to bring together scientists and engineers across campus who are working to solve some of the deepest mysteries associated with life's origins and distribution in the universe.

Anyone wanting to get a head start on this subject can e-mail me (RichardSRussell@tds.net) for a PDF file of the 8-page handout for my own 2005 presentation on the subject, "How Rare Is Earth?".
