After a sucessful event in Jan & Feb with good turn out, I am making this a monthly activity on this group.

In 2026 I want to discipline myself to setting aside more creative / craft time. Using the creative side of our brains is important for our wellbeing & mental health.

Come join me for a couple of hours of creativity & a natter. Bring a craft / small portable DIY project or even just a mindfullness colouring book & pencils. If you don't have a project, maybe just come along for the company, chat & inspiration or I may have a spare project you can do (limited no) or maybe there will be someone else up for joining you in a board or card game.

I am aiming to make this a monthly event for at least the Winter months.

A friendly kickabout, open to all levels. Different players each week. Newcomers welcome.

We book the pitch when we hit the minimum of 8 "yes" RSVPs, which we need to do by the day before.

The cost is usually £4-£8, depending how many sign up (£64 for the half pitch or £92 for the full pitch, divided by the number of players)

The money will be collected at the end of the game, whether by cash, direct bank transfer (ask for our details) or Paypal as you prefer.

DON'T BE LATE! We need to be there, changed and ready for kick-off at 9:00 PM. If the game is ever cancelled we will let those who have already RSVPd "yes" know.

TO FIND THE PITCH: Come in through the main entrance of Braywick Sports Ground, off Braywick Road. Take an immediate RIGHT in front of the Toby Carvery Stafferton Lodge where the road forks (rather than turning left towards the caged pitches). Head across the mini-roundabout and into the leisure centre car park.

Park up there if you're in a car. You'll see the leisure centre to your left, and the pitches are directly behind it. You can either walk through the centre or around.

If on a bike/foot, follow the road to the left of the leisure centre and make your way round to the back — there are bike racks directly opposite the pitch.

PLEASE BRING:

• Suitable boots for the outdoor 3G pitches. Artificial grass (AG) football boots are strongly recommended as the best option for the surface. Full studs/blades designed for soft ground (SG) would be dangerous for you especially, as well as for others and the pitch. You could get away with wearing firm-ground (FG) or astroturf boots for a while, but it won't help your game or your boots! Trainers probably fine, but don't give the best grip.

RSVP TERMS AND CONDITIONS

• Do please always RSVP to this event. If you do not RSVP and turn up there is a chance you can't play as the event is already fully booked!

• When you RSVP "Yes", we book a spot on the pitch for you. The organiser is charged for the pitch unless they cancel it at least 48 hours before the game.

• If you change your RSVP to "No" less than 48 hours before play or you are a "No Show" and nobody is able to take your spot, you will be asked to pay the price as if you took part.

BRINGING GUESTS:

Please note than you are more than welcome to bring 1 or 2 friends to play (but only if you add "+1" or "+2" to your RSVP, so that we don't end up with too many players). Any guest wanting to take part in any subsequent game will be requested to register with the group

Walks currently tend to be approx 3 to 5 mile. followed by a drink in a pub at end of route or nearby.

Although Winter walks tend to be more street or defined path based there may be occasions when the terrain is rough & uneven at times & muddy and / or with puddles so please wear appropriate comfortable footwear 🥾.

Gentle social walks so could take a bit longer than 3mph (especially as I am recovering from a major op) plus time for a post walk drink. Walks can sometimes be quicker depending on route / terrain etc.

Due to the timing, please eat before walk or bring snacks 🥪 for walk (speaking from experience of fellow walkers being ravenous on after work walks).

Dogs 🐕 permitted (as long as they do not jump up on me as I am personally more a cat person 🙂🐈‍⬛). Most pubs are dog friendly but I leave that for dog owners to check.

This is an opportunity to break up the working week with fresh air, exercise and face to face company.

It's back at a new venue 'The Prince of Wales, the 1st Thursday monthly, as per 'Rupes' Facebook entry.

They've changed the title to include 'Band' rock numbers as well, thus greater variety of music.

It has a small car park in front of the building, so street parking probably required.
The house band music usually starts about 8:00pm for 30mins, continues with various performers till 23:00pm.
The pub will be open, I will get there at 8:00pm to get a good seats to the left of the entrance and look out for those coming.
This is usually free, but sometimes they have an optional cash collection to cover guests artist travel expenses, also house band equipment used by several musicians, last month 7 drummers used the kit.
It is in the main bar so plenty of seating and standing room, musicians and singers performing in the main bar.
Pub has a food menu, pizza, etc.
Some people come from other groups.
Can be cancelled last minute, can be checked on Facebook under 'https://www.facebook.com/POWmarlow/'. January 2026 won't be on, next March 5th.
